Well in my EK Track project i plan on putting braided brake lines throughout the car along with fuel lines.

My questions are:

What Size Piping will i need ?

What kind of conectors will i need ?

Is it possible to keep the ABS unit ?

Is it Hard to get rid of the ABS Unit ?

and if you can give me any kind of info that you guys have please as i reckon this is the way to go in a track car.

Thanks in advance

and anyone know in what kind of lenghts its sold in i've found some on demon tweaks :

i see they have everything so makes it easier but still need to know the conectors needed etc

Contact gerry at performancetek in scotland, his A HEL distributor and he does full custom brake line setups etc, he can supply you with everything you need.

Go on his website mate, performancetek

All the numbers you need will be there :nice:

I'm a HEL distributor too, let me know what you want and I should be able to help. Should be able to work on the price too in exchange for some vinyls on your car... and if you bought in conjunction with a brake kit, well.. :D

hmm thats a verry intresting offer there mate i have not got a clue what i need though.

and the brake kit is a possiblity too...

need to talk more about this me thinks

For a track car especially, it is better to keep as much steel line as possible. They flex less under pressure than braided lines being the most important thing.

By all means replace your rubber lines with braided steel but replacing all of them is costly and counterproductive. If it's a thing with weight the difference is nil, the steel lines weigh almost nothing.

Also, I'm not talking out of my ass they covered this in a book called "High Performance Brake Systems".

What exactly are you trying to achieve by replacing the whole lines? Is it done out of need or want? Like was said above, replacing the whole system is going to be expensive for almost no gains. The flexis from the hard pipe to the caliper are consumable items, so can be replaced easily. You can also fit a clutch line if you wanted as well.

want to remove my ABS and fit a bias controller ... basicly ... was thinking braided lines would be easier to work with for this ...

You can do both without needing to fit braided lines, just using standard brake pipe.
If you're trying to do it with braided you need to measure all the lengths, work out all the connections and do it that way.

think my eg4 has braided brake lines but theses were already on the car when i bought them

well i could messure it all out yes. would you use a single line to the back setup then split into 2 at the rear or keep a twin tube like stock ?

Also would you join both tubes out of the MC together or somthing ?

really i need somone who has done this before so i can copy there setup because i have not got a clue.

And i intend to run the brake lines through the cockpit for easy access and for the sweet look of braided lines.

How much you think i'd be looking at to fully kit the car with braided lines? more than 200 quid ?

i dont know how you sell the pipe you see because demon tweaks it says 8.90 for 1 but 1 what meter? cm ? length ? because if it's easy i'd just buy 8 meters of the stuff with the fittings i need then fit it all together or do you need speacial tools to fit the piping to the conectors?

Sorry I didnt get back to you...did you call me?

As for the braided vs hardpipe argument...it takes thousands of psi of pressure to make the braided hose we make HEL hoses from expand, not a worry in a braking system as these pressures will never be reached.

did call you yes, was intrested in a price i've been quoted 350 with postage else where including a brake bias controller
