How do you know you need a fresh set? Have you measured the tolerances?
Honda are the best bearings you can fit, friend of mine had ACL bearings in his DC2 and developed a knock after a trackday which turned out to be a badly damaged rod bearing. We don't know who built the engine or what the tolerances were like tho
Are you building your b16a then, new cams, pistons etc? I had thought about doing a build with my b16a but its usually more cost effective to buy a Type-R motor
That's down to engine assembly; not the bearings.
That is true but there is no way that ACL duraglide will last the as well as Honda bearings with the tolerances
His car burnt a lot of oil on the track so Im thinking that the rod bearings were starved of oil while cornering which resulted in the bearing damage. The crank was unmarked when removed
Maybe not. But they'll still be good for over 100k providing everything else is fine. They make good bearings (although I'm not a fan of their "race" bearings).
Why you not like race bearings? Too hard?
I would check what bearings are on it at the moment, if they are within tolerance for green sized bearings then I'd use ACL and save some money. For the price of a B16b/c I'd say use Honda but B16a's aren't worth much to begin with.
