i recently bought a b18c jdm block to rebuild for my ek. it will be a fast road build so i want to keep it easy to drive. ek9 head or maybe stage 1 or 2 cams of some sort.

few questions..

what oil pump should i go for? oem? or..

big end and main bearings.. what make is best?

same with rod bolts.

crank lightening also would like to know views on this.

help from anyone who has done a rebuilt would be great.

im after a strong 200bhp and reliability.

cheers :drive:

Hi bud how goes it?

oem itr oil pump for a start.
ACL duraglide bearings

all other parts i would keep oem depending on what cams you choose.

if you need anything priced pm me on this username or "simauto" :nice:

a healthy rebuilt OEM engine with good breathing mods will see you with a healthy 200bhp. to raise the CR a little you could use EK9 'PCT' pistons if you have them readily available. If you go down the cams route be prepared to get your car mapped too to make most use out of any mods you have!

i was told to put the ek9 pct pistons in by a friend aswell i think there what im going to go for :nice:

^youl need it mapped with pct pistons too , as it will be higher compression

and id look into not using a high compression gasket with the pct pistons, if your using these pistons, a high compression gasket and the head is skimmed, you might have an issue with valve clearances, so id do some research before just throwin everythin in if you get me:nice:

but with good breathing mods, pct pistons, ported and polished head and a good map should see 200 brake easy:nice:

yea mate it will be mapped for definate to get all the power out of it.

willl i run stansard b18 con rods with the pct pistons?

Yes standard rods will be fine.
I just went for oversize ITR pistons on my b18 build last time round as your meant to get a better "burn", did have the pct pistons before in my b16 build and made decent power.
