b18c p73 rebuilt

Honda Civic Ek3 1999 4door Vi-RS / Honda Civic Ek3 1996 2door HatchBack B18C swap
Hi am thinking that is time for a rebuilt for my engine it is B18C p73 let me know anything good or if i say anything that don't fit correct me am looking forward to see other people opinions

i have
*b16b Camshafts
*Supertech Valves 200F series nitrine standar size flat
*oem springs and retainers
*pistons will replace them with B16B PCT
*ACL race STD size main bearings

and now am wondering to for a head gasket buddyclub for higher compression or to stay on oem size because of the valves and the pistons that will provide me higher compression?

and what do i need else to be checked or replaced for a good rebuilt engine?

keep oem std head gasket it'll easier and less complications to worry bout

i would also include decent manifold,headers just my opinion
 
any other ideas? ;p
 
I'd steer clear of the supertech valves, few lads have had issues with them..
I'd go with oem gasket set and aftermarket pistons likes of wiseco. You may have clearance issues with pct's should you go down the route of cams afterwards.
 
anyone knows if Nippon Racing Pistons and complete Gasket set its okay or good to use on my B series engine that i try to rebuilt it ?
 
i have used arias pistons for the last 6 years and they have been excellent, my new build is a p73 b18c and i used wiseco pistons and the clearances on the oil squirters is not very good, ie... the piston hits them:shocked:

The Nippon pistons are fine but i would go oem Honda on all the gaskets etc.

Contact "Simauto" on here for oem gaskets/rebuild kit etc if you ever need them.
 
I have a new set of Nippon pistons but 1 of them is not machined right so it don't sit straight in the bore, go for oe from funkeypower

had this problem,simple fix tho just buy the eagle block offs for the squirters
 
whats better for my B18C from ITR !!! change to B16B pistons or Stay on B18C pistons?
