B18 Turbo EK - now complete(ish)

Link to old thread, bit cluttered so thought id post up fresh on here - http://www.ek9.org/forum/members-rides/30483-b18-turbo-ek-my-car-6.html

Finally put it back on the road properly on Friday. Its taking some getting used to, frightening car. Incredibly quick. Ugently need to get better profile tyres for front and proper laser alignment done with the new camber arms setup 100%. Twitchy is an understatement.

Killed the bumper off a kerb on Sunday morning as i ran out of talent going fast  like said, its gonna take some getting used to.

Mapping wise, it made 393hp @ wheels at 1.2bar (451hp @ fly), 310lb/ft torque. Boosts been toned down to a meer 0.8 bar as its pretty ridiculous at that and also a bit safer. That was also on Tesco Momentum 99ron......so could be slightly better with V-Power as supposed to be slightly better than the Momentum

Hope you all like. Comments and criticism always welcome.

few too many flywheels and clutches for my liking.. :p

Thanks for comments etc guys. Appreciated

Yup, defo planning on doing atleast one track session in it this year. Hopefully more but work commitments, football etc take up alot of my weekends/night times.

I'll fire up a few pics of the Teg later when i find a few. :)

The breathing system has been customised already for the bottom end, its more vital to have the bottom end breath better than have an extra couple ports put in at the head/rocker cover.

Iv got track wheels ready for fitting when the track day comes up

Well spotted Gorbash. Forgot to delete the old Exedy stuff when i copied and pasted the old spec

Other plans other than new front tyres, sort tracking and track time - change the Innovative wideband to an AEM Uego so it matches my oil guages. Traction Bar for the front end to help attain grip. Also still want to get larger ARB's and polybush kit for the car.

Great work man! What a beast
Would love to build a b18 turbo in the future

Are you using the two blocked off ports on the back of the block? (m28x1 iirc)
By putting extra breathers on the rocker cover you are allowing the bottom end to breath, with the added bonus of having the baffel plate under the rocker cover to stop the oil being pushed into the catch tank.
:drive: <-3rd gear :))

Just using one of them blocked off ports, going into catch tank next to te battery. The engine is breathing more than suffice, has been fully checked on the dyno and is performing excellently. :)

Cheers again guys.

Rambo, im playing Sunday Amatuer with Mid Calder in the Livingston and District league, and also recently joined Beechwood FC in Saturday League. Funnily enough there been a Rambo that plays in goals goin to Beechwood, is that you?!? Lol

Hey fella, been a looooong time since I have seen an update on this beast. I was beginning to think you had sold her.glad you've still got her and getting her back on the road.
This is an epic build and as everyOne has said, get some Vids up.

Thats the car been put into the garage and tucked up for the winter. Will be gtting the bumper repaired, new front tyres, alignment sorted, fully polybushed, sound deadening removed and hopefully get my flocked dash completed. If funds allow, then STACK dash will be happening for early next year :D

That's a huge speclist. Nice car, I can imagine it being fairly scary :D
