So I got this in April last yr, it popped up on ebay, pretty cheap, had some nice bits, but no T&T... So I clicked buy it now and risked it.

Went to collect the next day, and was pleasently suprised, all spec was correct and it was pretty tidy.

Basic spec was -

Lightning Silver EK3 Shell
Genuine EK9 front bumper/grille and front and rear lips.
Colour coded plastics and boot badge holes smoothed.
EK9 interior plastics and rear seat, cenre console, cup holders etc.
Rainbow component speakers.
EP3 steering wheel

KYB AGX shocks
H+R Springs
EK9 front ARB
Poly bushed front end
Skunk2 Ltd edition rear LCA's
ITR 282/262 brakes and 1" M/C
Braided hoses.
7x15 Rota slipstreams, Toyo T1R tyres.

Complete b18c4 swap with S9B
ACT lighweight flywheel
Exedy stage1 clutch
TODA exhaust manifold
Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust
Hondata S300 ecu and conversion harness.

I had a Dc2 at the time but was abit bored with it, so I sold that and bought a cheaper EE9 which I've always wanted. With some spare cash left over, I set about gathering parts to turbo the EK as I've always wanted a turbo B series...

I sold the Slipstreams. and Toda manifold and the Legalis R went on my sons EG track car.

I then picked up a pair of DC5 Recaros on low rails and some Cusco door bars, my friend made me a floor brace too and I had removed my Mugen rear strut brace off my Dc2 before it went and so fitted it to the EK.

Then up came a Race-Tech external wastegate turbo kit 2nd hand, so I snapped that up and began fitting that along with purchasing some more parts... intake manifold, 68mm T/B, 725cc ID injectors etc

I got it all fitted up eventually and booked it in at RDT for mapping, after a few minor issues it made 300whp exactly @ 11psi, BUT after mapping on the test drive it cracked a ring :(

I was gutted, but ploughed on regardless, I got offered another compete b18c4 locally, went to check it out and it looked very clean, so took it home. After removing the old lump it was clear it was a high mileage engine and poorly maintained, everything covered in thick black sludge, turns out the guy had been running it on the Hondata basemap for 13k aswell!!! so that wont have done it any favors!

So back to present day and the new engine is in, along with a few extras, its running well at the moment, just need my downpipe adjusting as its fouling the sump. Gonna stick a few hundred miles on it before giving some beans, so fingers crossed!

Heres a few pics and current spec

wow man, nice build..

Looks great to in that silver . Very nice sir :D

Very nice, i sold my EJ9 last year, was the same colour. Great build, nice parts.

Cheers guys more updates coming soon.

Just recieved oil cooler, so once thats fitted and oil changed for Millers, I'll be driving it harder, no more short shifting!

Other plans include 5 stud swap and upgrade to 8x16 rims
Rear ARB
New rear spolier and front lip
AEM wideband and few other gauges to keep an eye on things...

So my oil cooler kit turned up, and my front 5 stud setup, rear 5 stud setup will be purchased next month as I'm only gonna buy the hub/bearing assembly and transfer it onto my current rear trailing arms, as they already have new bushes in, from what Ive found out this is a straight swap, as I already have the 282/262 brake setup.... apart from needing to use a diffrent (smaller) hub nut, as the stub axle is slightly shorter on Ek4 stub axles compared to Ek9/Dc2. New discs will also be fitted at the same time.

My new rims are on the way to me now, :boogie: and picked up a pair of 215 45 16 Hankook RS2's for the rear, got my eye on a pair of track tyres for the front in 225 45 16 too. Some Millers 10/50 and some harnesses, on the way aswell, as my seatbelts dont retract and its REALLY annoying me!

To go along with the oil cooler, I've got some titanium heatwrap for the downpipe and screamer pipe and I think I'll get a turbo blanket to help keep that heat down.

Next on the list is a wideband linked to my Hondata for proctection and oil and water temp gauges also.... I'm not a big fan of gauges everywhere but I think I could do with some, especially if I see some track time.

Just popped a deposit on something else to aid cooling that has the added bonus of looking dam cool... ;)
