Just looking for info on both.

Been offered ITR Inlet Mani's and seen a Skunk2 one for sale. All at the same price. Just wondered which would be better if anyone knew?

Plus points with ITR ones, I'm getting the TB included which I think I'm right in saying is larger than a B16B TB? Was told that's what is on the car but yet to check.

Any info/opinions are appreciated guys. Cheers.

Ive seen numerous times that actually the standard inlet mani on a b16a will out perform an itr on the dyno!

Really? I didn't expect that. Would anyone ever fit a B16A Inlet Mani to an ITR though? Could maybe have been other contributing mods affecting results? Smaller TB on the ITR Inlet Mani not allowing enough airflow for maximum effect? Or something like that?

Cheers for the info though mate.

Its well known. You get about 2hp more peak but much less power lower down. Overall its worse.

Its probably marginal on the b16b...but naturally it suits the b18c.

Waste of money for the gains tbh.

If you want more power just save your cash up and get a B18C engine

Stick with the standard one and get a type r throttle body and port match the intake.

Cheer lads. I'm not spending thousands on a B18C for an SiR Logan. This is just a stepping stone to an EK9 when insurance is reasonable. I'll be getting the car mapped shortly and was just thinking about any bolt ons that might help see a few more HP that aren't that expensive. With a full 5Zigen Exhaust, AEM V2 Intake, Inlet Mani and TB were really the only things I thought about. B16B Cams would be nice too.

Cheers for the info lads.

I had a gasflowed and skimmed head with b16b cams and springs on a b16a1 bottom end.

Felt very similar to the b16b engines I ran before and after it.

I changed my p30 manifold for a skunk2 pro series but keep the stock throttle body, I gain around 10bhp top end, on the overall I gain a couple bhp also....... My car was mapped after I install the skunk2 manifold.....maybe my gains come from that, or not...... I know for sure that my previously map wasn't good for my actual mods on low rpm but on high rpm it's fine....so that 10bhp gain on top didn't come from the tune alone..... I've a b16a1 with y21 gearbox.......

If you wanted to race...lets say in a 200bhp/ton class, it would help you to do exactly that.

Yes a guy on Hondatech did this several years ago.

He won HP and tq everywhere except after 7-7500 where he lost.

I can vouch for that as well.

When I built my B18c I only had a P30 B16A intake manifold to use. It did feel a bit lacking from 7300 to redline so I bought an ITR manifold and TB to fit. Once fitted I instantly notice a loss in low and midrange but gained from 7000rpm onwards.

The ITR intake is just a shorter runner and slightly wider plenum version of a B16A manifold. Number 1 rule with intakes and TBs is bigger is NOT always better.

On a B16A the stock manifold and TB are perfect unless you are running high comp and big cams with a high rpm power band. There is good reason that Honda kept the same 60mm TB on the B16B as the B16A.

Sorry for the hijack
But is there any difference between a JDM98 spec itr inlet, b16b inlet and b18c6 inlet ?

If your changing to type r cams and valve springs and are looking for more top end power rather than low-mid I would recommend fitting the type r intake manifold

And reason I mention valve springs is that when you get it mapped the rev limit can be raised to 8700-8800rpm. With a good exhaust and intake I've seen the b16a's with type r cams carry power to 8600-8700rpm.

Anyone will tell you its all about matching components, the ITR or Skunk2 inlet will not work well if you keep the stock b16a cams as they drop off when the other inlets will start to work, you need to match everything to a "working" Rpm band.

My last trip to Euro spec to see romain he informed me that he thinks the ITR intake would benefit nicely to a b16 with ITR cams, head skimmed, decent 2.5" exhaust and mugen airbox.

When i finally get back up to see him ill post the setup before and after
