Hey guys,

Did some searching and didnt find much, basically im after the weight of a B16b engine (no trans, inlet mani)

I've found ~ 144kgs, wondering if this is correct?

Cheers :nice:

Yeh sounds right, takes two people to lift one up on a pallet so 150 KG's or less should be right.

a friend of mine who swapped a b18c to his ej told me it was about 170-180kg, don't know what exactly the engine had on, when he weighed it though. The d14 engine was about 120kg or a bit less
And this explains the reason why when you use ek9 springs to an ej9 the car sits extremely high

According to the Honda manual they state a b16a weighs 140kg wet. So id say your 144kg sounds about right:)

Sounds right mate, mind looking up a load of engine weights for a lotus Honda swap, apparently the difference between the b and k is under 10kg from what I found. My current engine weighs half that at around 80kg

Do the B18C weight 40 kilos more than the b16? I find a bit too much of diference between both, don't you?

No, there is only a small difference, basically just a slightly taller b16 which by no means would way 40kg's more with identical heads. Only real difference would be in the accessories attached to the engine

Just loose the power steering and that should bring the weight back down, alloy engine mounts etc aswell which obviously you will need, these should all help

Yes, it changes a little depending on the pheripherials that is has...

With it being a built bottom end, kinda expecting it to weigh a little less too. Thanks for the replies though guys! Shame the engine is going still lol. :-(

Difference would be negligible tbh, wouldn't be much difference in the pistons plus baffled sump might even add a little more weight, liners I'm totally unsure of I'd reckon no more than a kg in it
