b16 tuning ideas.....?????

hi guys i have a 1998 ek4 and looking abit more ponies nothing major...the mods i have at the minute are


full 5eigan exhaust system with decat
jasma 4 into 1 exhaust mani


thats it atm but was thinking dc2 intake manifold and throtle body,dc2 oem airbox with aftermarket filter and a good remap...am not shure can u fully remap the standard ecu..???or would i be better changing to an obd1 for example any information would be great thnks guys

you got it dude. dc2 airbox on there with a cold air feed and a TB also. or go for Skunk2 inlet mani...

I don't think you can fully remap a stock ECU... can use things like chrome to tune it though.. if you want a full remap it'd have to be a fully mapable ECU like hondata or motec or something..

another good mod is some DC2 or EK9 camshafts... with a remap these will open it up a bit more..

All depends on a few things

Budget ?? What do you use the car for ?? what sort of power figure have you got in mind ?? then also again BUDGET lol....

i thought you wouldnt be able 2 fully map the stock ecu....am budget is quite tight.. am willing to spend money on the car cuz its my pride and joy but not go mental...lol...the car is my daily driver but dont go to far jus to the odd meet and a run around the coast on weekends...yea i was thinking ek9 cams after the first map to see how things go with these mods first....i know a good honda breakers close to where am from and i think i can get the intake mani and airbox at a reasonable price...but its all about the ecu at the end of the day thats where all the work goes on...lol...as for power gains i just want the best out of the b16 i dont want to break any records or anything but around the 180bhp would be nice...lol thanks mate.....

right ok got the air box great job....a mate of mine gave me a ecu its reading 37820-p30-G00 i think its out of a uk speck delsol vti not to shure but would this be wise to get a jumper harness and get this mapped to my car any advice...???? thanks

You will need to have that ecu socketed and as you say a obd1 jumper harness so you can plug it in then it can be tuned with Neptune, ectune, etc.
