Hello All

Fitted Avid Engine Mounts Billeted 75a Shore yesterday to my EK9, all went in well and fitted perfectly. But when I started the engine and began driving the car vibrates excessively. I understand that there will be more vibrations than standard due to the uprated bush rates, but not this much.

How long before the vibrations die down once the bushes bed in?

Also how much torque did you torque the pivot bolts up and in what order? I believe this might be where the issue lies.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Glad i have no fillings as would have lost them all yesterday on the first drive. :p

When you install BILLET mounts what else do you expect? The 75a will give you those vibrations and they will stay there until you remove them lol

I Would advise getting a set of the energy suspension mount inserts. Using them in conjunction with oem mounts is sufficient for road use imo :)

I did tell him that - yet he failed to listen - what a tool.

LOL chunk

I listened Joe... but was asking for any more advice from other members who may have fitted similar mounts.

Cheers Patrickforde and Elchunk for your help and advice. In some respects wish I had replaced with OEM parts now, but will see how I get on.

I've put innovative 62A billet mounts in my car and the engine is solid with them in, so i can only imagine what 75A must be like.

Would have thought 62a to be plenty for any Road/Track car. Anything harder seems to be for pure track/race cars.

Poly inserts on the torque mounts and standard main mounts will only destroy the new main mounts as it just transfers the force. Believe me I found that one out the hard way.

There was a thread about the correct tightening procedure for engine mounts, can't remmeber were it was. Plus I remove various engine mounts for cambelts and clutches most days of the week and have never come across any of them needing any specific tightning sequence.

i had 60a street innovative mounts in my old b18 ek
will be getting them again

got 75a innovitative mounts in mine was alot of vibration as expected when i first fitted them but either i got used to it or they settled in a bit dont notice it now, so like the guys have said if you cant deal with it swap them out for street use ones

I think I am going to grin and bear it to be honest. They were a job to fit and just going to hope they settle down a bit as they bed in. Totally understand there will always be more vibration now than standard mounts, so I think I need to man up quickly. ha ha. :)

95a's - I need to stop moaning like a girl...LOL :)

Thanks for everyone's help. :nice:

U think ur sum tough guy huh??

Nah I dont think so I know, lol In all honesty im looking for 1.5-16 sixty foots on track so every little helps, and also helps keep the shafts straight.
