I decided the car needs to lose more weight, so i have drilled a load of holes in the inner door skins, removed the washer bottle from the front, and i'm going to fit a smaller bottle in the back. Just looking for more things to take out now

My front splitter has seen it's fair share of stones, so gave it a lick of paint

Haha thanks. Yeah but i miss it looking rough sometimes :( the engine hit 120k today, 50,000 in just over 2 years not bad :p

More updates.. Copied from another forum if it doesn't make sense.. Sorry. :)

I went to adjust my handbrake cable today as it seemed to come up very high, as i took the wheel off i noticed there was no pad in the caliper so luckily i had a brand new set of mintex pads and discs here so i replaced the lot :) lucky i did as the discs were knackard.

Bought a pspec short shifter, what a difference! Took a little while to get used to it, but went down the twisties and it just feels perfect.

Painted the gearstick black, as the greeny yellow was a bit hanging

Well, i noticed a crack in my block night before a track day, while changing my bottom pulley. Where the alternator bolts to the front of the block. Which was a bit of a bummer day before a track day, so i was planning on getting it welded but early sat evening is hard to find someone who can weld ally. But as i took the alternator bracket off there was only one bolt holding it on, as one bolt had snapped in the block, and the other and stayed in the part of the block that had snapped off. So luckily i got a friend who is handy with tools and made a stud to fit in the block and use that. I really don't know how it happened, but it must have been a fair bit of force to snap the block, a bolt and oval the bolt hole in the cast of the bracket.

Can just see the crack below the manifold stud

As said earlier, my first track day was today. And i was very nervous at first, but as i started to get quicker and more confident, my brakes decided to give up and fade epically and judder, so i shall be order newer better brakes this week.

But heres a few pictures that were taken today

My old wheels that i put a pair of old 595's on and painted

Exhaust that was made for the track day, as my other exhaust was 107Db, and the limit was 105Db, using standard ep3 back box. And lots of random pipe we had lying around.

As my temp fix for the cracked bloked by the alternator didn't last too long i thought about buying an alternator relocation bracket, which is mainly used when doing H-swaps in civics due to the lack of room by the headlight/chassis leg. But i could only find them in the U.S. and for $115 before shipping/taxes so i thought i'd make my own. A length of 4mm flat steel bar from the local b&q, ~£5 a smaller belt and away to go.

I could have used a D-series alternator which they say is alot lighter but when i weighed the pair, the D alternator was 0.65kg lighter than the H alt. so didn't really see much point in the hassle of the wires, so i stuck with the H.

This is the kit for $115 really not much to it, mine basically looks like this.

I didnt weigh the new one but it certainly feels a lot lighter, i've got to take it bal off tomorrow to paint it before it rusts so i shall weigh it then.

But here it is fitted, wires extended and a little bit messy ATM but shall sort that tomorrow too :agree:

Saved myself some cash, and a little bit of weight from the front :)

As some may know i took the car off the road for the winter so i think its time i spend a bit more money and tidy the car up a bit and just buy a few more things.

So far i have got a walbro 255lph fuel pump, an asr rear antiroll bar and brace, rear lip spoiler and finally got my hands on some get fit window winders :D

But recently bought another Ultra Racing brace
called a 'room bar' not sure if it will do anything bit the others i have fitted made a difference :agree:

I won a wide arch set on ebay a while back but only recently picked them up, still 50/50 on them but they only cost £25 so really doesn't bother me to much if don't like them.

My plan is to get new balljoints/ camber arms, raise the suspension, take more weight out of the car, the best i can. When i fit the manual windows i may take the door cards off and possibly tidy the doors up with carbon.. If i'm feeling rich
When i get the car on the road again it will be going to have the suspension set up again and then off for my remap :)

Jesus man you have done some amount of work! Car looks great, id take off the rear splitter and just put on the diffuser but thats just me :)
Keep it up!

Thanks man. I was thinking that but i quite like the splitter.. Plus its kinda rubbed some of the paint off where its been fitted so it would look a bit naff haha

What can i say! Well done! I would appreciate if you could comment on the bars effect. As for the rear, does it reduce the boot space drastically? I saw that you had the atr recaros and now the ek9 ones, how would you compare them? Are the atr wider? Do they sit taller than the ek9 ones? Thanks a lot.

good build man, alot of effort and time i can see, bet that sump isnt to happy tho looks real low, almost like its dragging in the pic of you on the track

Thank you :) yeah when i fit i shall let you know !:) not really lost any boot space but i don't really ise my boot for much tbh. I've only ever had the stok seats and atr seats fitted :) but compared to the ek9 i drive pretty much daily now the ek9 recaros are a tighter fit as the atr seats don't really have that much 'bucket' to them.. Coming from a grandads car and all lol.

Again, thank you :) yeah too much time and effort but if it wasn't for this car i'd probably be an alki or a gamer that doesn't leave the house lol. Yeah sump sits fairly low, annoying sometimes but hopefully when i raise the car it won't be so bad. I've thought of many ways to raise the engine but never actually had time to do it. :(

Finally got my car down my garage this week and started to get it together.

Removed my parcel shelf and rear speakers.

I am determined to get it down to 1040kg which i think is acheivable. Last time i weighed it, it was 1080kg. But it's quite hard to remove 40kg from something with not much left to remove.

Since it has been in my garage i have removed 16kg, but the sunroof was like 25kg iirc, carbon boot/bonnet, which should do it but i have also added another recaro, braces, rear disc conversion etc etc. So will see when it's back what it weighs.
