Hey,

I'm looking for a subframe brace and I asked myself which one ist the best?

I'm just wondering if there is any difference between the ASR and the Function7 ones.
Or they just look different? Are they bolted the same way or has any of those two a better stay ?

thanks guys :)

They both mount the same, just different looks. Cant imagine any performance difference between the two. Although i think the ASR can run a larger size ARB.

I was just wondering, because i heard something about that the ASR not beeing so solid mounted because it supports itself with the sparewheel well ...

Hm... not so sure which one to take, even though I already have F7 LCAs...

The ASR bolts through the rear subframe, the same as every other rear brace.

IMO it is a very sturdy piece of kit and should be stronger than the function 7 as it is a solid billet piece of metal.

good for you ek9 owners... :D

but i'm staying true street with my EJ9 ;)

Anybody know were the best place to get the ASR brace with ARB?

Most places only list the brace. But their ARB is adjustable.

Notice in the picture it has multiple holes in the end of the bar. Each point will have a different leverage angle so to soften or stiffen.

Wouldn't really take that much to make the Std 24mm one adjustable to be softer. Just weld a plate on the end and drill, to extend the mounting point of the link.

lol, get you now! I just had the droplink through whichever one was handiest!

Sorry to thread jump.....

Whats the best way to know what size of ARB you should have to compliment your suspension? I noticed an old post on here saying it should be matched with your suspension, im assuming this would be your spring ratings?

Was interested in sorting something out but im not going to just buy the biggest as its not always the right option :nice:

I fitted mine. Tomorrow I'll try to post step by step how to fit it. There's no big deal. Very easy!!

Cheers Tama.

Yes shortly after I posted this I found another thread where someone had bought one for his EK9 and it turned out it didn't fit.

I will probably go for a 22mm Whiteline one instead.

Thanks.

You lucky EK9'ers, we have this ugly mass of metal hanging off the underside of our cars...weight weight and more weight. Don't feel left out, you have what we all wish we could have to be honest, no brace.
