Hoping somebody can help me with this ,
Put a short shifter into the civic today but it seems to stick out more than the oem one at the bottom so now the linkage is catching my exhaust and grinding , anyone have this problem or any ideas what to do ? This makes gear changes almost impossible

every short shifter i have had has done this thats how they make the shift shorter by extending the bottom, you can grind a bit of the bottom, when i had my custom exhaust made i asked the to lower it an inch so it wouldnt hit the pipe.

i dunno if the top end shifters are any different??

i also had the bearings go on my short shifters

I had a skunk2 short shifter and never had this issue, it was close though, the higher end shifters are better made and designed.

Same here, I run a mfactory shifter and has plenty of clearance. Fitted a cheap eBay one to my mb6 and it did hit the exhaust.

Five minutes with a grinder will solve the problem.

Does anyone actually see a benefit of running these? I had one and its was gash for finding gears, especially reverse!!! I swapped it back after about 4 miles lol

I run an mfactory short shift lever in the rally car and has been perfect since i fitted it, but at the same time the standard 122k mile gear lever in my ek4 daily works perfectly, so i wouldnt bother again to be honest

tried to shave a couple mm off with the grinder but its the bottom of the linkage thats catching not the actual shifter , it made it slightly better but still a pain and and more off the linkage and im looking at more problems , so its back to oem for me !
