Not sure if this is a good idea or not so wanting others thoughts.
Basically I have a VTI Sedan with the SIR look.
I like the SIR look but I also like the facelift rear bumper.
Is it mad to get the bump strips put on the facelift rear bumper.
I've never seen anyone do this.
Thoughts please.

Cheers

Yip, it would probably be cheaper to buy a bumper with the strips on it.

I don't believe you can actually get a facelift rear bumper for Sedans/Coupes that come with bump strips.
I don't wanna lose the SIR look but i want the facelift rear bumper...

It would be easier if there was a pic of the car. When ya say you dont wanna lose the sir look what has the back bumper different from the vti?

hummm...its a bumper cover right? Do what you like! Not what we all think is right or wrong...your going to get both likes and dislikes I am afraid.

I say do what you want to do, who cares what we all think.

Pics are not my car by the way.

Here's a normal pre-facelift bumper with bump strips. (Rare 4WD version pictured, lol)

The facelift isn't that different, but it has a kinda lip molded into it.

Basically I like the SIR front and want the facelift rear bumper but obviously it would be odd to have no bump strips on the rear.

Maybe put a prefacelift coupe front bumper? so you can keep prefacelift but smooth to match rear?

IMO it doesn't look odd in the second pic, that's also what Honda must have thought. Why don't you get the facelift bumper and door strips colour coded.
Dunx

Yeah I was thinking once to get the smooth bumpers but then it'd look like my EK9.
Not sure people are understanding the plan, lol.
I'm just gonna go a head with putting bump strips on the facelift bumper.

I will be honest i dont get it lol. When you say sir look what are you refering too? have you an oem sir lip or? everything else is pretty much the same really?

I normally just call it the old man look but others say the bump strips are the SIR look.

Why not buy a bumper with bump strips already fitted? Oem..

I'm gonna get my mate to just photoshop what I mean, lol.
Easier to explain then.

But all the prefacelift uk and jdm civics (apart from the coupes and ek9 obviously) have strips? Sir doesnt come into it.

If you want to fit a facelift rear bumper and leave the prefacelift front, i do think it will look off or people will just think it was rear ended. Iv seen one or two facelift civics with the added on bumpstrips, i think they could have been a very rare option from factory. they also didnt look right to me
