Hi all,

Recently bought an ek9 this week and parts are already well on the way, loving every minute of it too!

It's currently got a decat, but have a cat just arrived, first off, could anyone advise what I need to do sensor wise, most cars have a O2 sensor in the manifold and on the cat, do I just need one on the cat for the 9 please?

Also have a spoon n1 backbox and spoon b-pipe, and I could currently set off a mini earthquake. Any recommendations on either a muffler or different backbox to bring it back to iconic motor, not 'look how loud I am'haha

Cheers all!

Hello and congratulations on your purchase! There's only one o2 sensor on EK9, no sensor in the manifold. Spoon do a quieter backbox (super street I think it's called) but I'd steer clear of that as the baffles in that tend to break down. Have you considered oem Ek9 backbox? They have been discontinued so you'll need to hunt one down second hand but it will bolt straight on to your Spoon B pipe as it uses the same flange as OEM.

Thanks man, much appreciated. Sensor on order then!

Oh that's great, have been considering getting a custom backbox made and keeping the b-pipe, then seeing what I could get for the N1

Welcome to the forum.....
Just to be clear there are no sensors in the cat, or b pipe and obviously not in back box....so if thats all has been changed you don't need a sensor.
I guess you have a JDM cat as the UK one wont fit.....

I put a baffled decat on mine leading to a new mugen b pipe and twin loop....not loud at all, but slightly more than oem, and a little bit of bark in vtec.
New twin loops are rare as hens teeth as discontinued

Throw up some pics of your ride:pics:

Baffles decat with a rm1oa is much more civilised do sounds great in vetec if you can find one

I have an EK9 midsection with a spoon axle back and even decatted it's not loud

I would recommend that, can't beat the look of a spoon :)
