Just ordered an ACT xact 3 piece clutch kit and 12 lbs flywheel for my 9.

Anyone use any of this kit or had experience of em??

you should ask first then buy the part, its no use knowing now that you already bought it but honestly i hate them, clutchmasters is much better, ACT has too stiff of a pedal...

im runnin act prolite flywheel (lightest version) and act uprated clutch, pedal feel as way too hard for my liking

flywheel is fine generally but daily driveability isnt that nice in stop start traffic

tbh the clutch is way over kill for my setup and even for well modded 9

been runnin it for couple years now so got used to it

the clutch holding ability is not overkill, in fact its very low, the pedal pressure is whats overkill, for example ive drive cars with clutchmasters stage 5 race clutch and it feels a lot softer than even an ACT stage 1. clutchmasters apporach to building clutches is completely different than ACT and thats why im going with a clutchmasters stage 5 for my next clutch :nice: if you can sell this and buy a clutchmasters i think you will be very happy.

got told from a couple of people that the ACT clutch feels like stock although is 40% uprated over stock.

thats cool, i'll hopfully have it back by next weekend so i'll let everyone know what the setup is like for future reference.

certainly cant be as bad as the 3 puck clutch that come off :naughty:

what ever it is you'll get used to it anyway...

I've got a ACT 4 puck on my SR20...I know different car but there all similar.

It's pretty heavy...and bites quite viscously. But you get used to it...

It does handle anything you throw at it though.

You'll love the Flywheel when driving on the street. It's perfect and not annoying with the revs dropping too fast when you change gears.

I have this flywheel :nice:

ACT is a very popular brand in my country, almost every track car here uses it. I've only heard only good comments.

I presently use the ACT HD Pressure Plate with a 4puck sprung clutch and an ACT Streetlite flywheel. The combination is pure bliss. I love it alot and wish I went stiffer :). I have used nothing but ACT pressure plates in every single car that I have owned because their PP is secound to NONE.

my clutch needs replacing & i was choosing between Exedy & the Honda OEM clutch disk & covers, how good is Exedy? i'm getting the organic disk & not the metallic since i'm not going to mod the shet out of my engine.

sorry for the thread jack but this is better than starting a new topic.

I changed mine to exedy heavy duty about 6 months ago. it's 37% more clamping force than stock. For a 1.6L engine and N/A, stock OEM is enough. This is my opinion. Unless you don't mind a heavy clutch. Even though its only 37%, it feels heavier than that.

Clutch grips very well, and bites in gradually like stock but better, unlike some aftermarket brands that bites instantly which is a pain.

thanks man, fortunately it was a false alarm & it was not the clutch that was sliding. :nice:

unfortunately we have a new problem that just happened with my EK9, i'll start a new topic with pics.

Got my motor back the other day and i love the clutch n flywheel combo
Got the street verion of the flywheel and the car seems to pick up a bit faster than before, and the clutch isn't heavy at all. Having said that i only had the spoon 3 puck clutch to compare it with which was murder lol
