is what exactly on a B16? I`m currently running a standard system and considering changing the whole system, headers or what ever bits are worth changing,so what would be the best 4-1,4-2-1,decat,back box etc I want more torque/power not really interested in more noise, but if I have to have it to make more power then so be it:)

basically:

4-1= high end bhp gain
4-2-1= mid range gain (broader power gain)

One thing about picking a full system is always match the products say spoon manifold with spoon Mid pipe, back box.

They are made to be used in conjuction with eachother and for maximum gains..

Spoon , J's racing and Mugen twinloop are the best manufacturers out there that provide a complete system..

What about these cat things, are they worth keeping or restrictive to power gains, never had a bike with one on so no experience with them at all.

Ditch the oem cat in my opinion, go for a sports cat or a decat if you don't mind the noise!

so are the 4-1 manifolds on ebay worth the money or false economy?

Id go for a JDM ITR 98spec 4-1 header if on a budget, TODA if not, hi-flow CAT & then a sensible exhaust of your choice....:nice:

with manifolds im a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Not just in terms of power gains, but also build quality, fit & finish &, most importantly, Longevity! :)

wow a quiet exhaust discussion and no mention of a apexi world sport2 thats a first. you want a quiet exhaust set up with no cat get the apexi ws2 system. header choice depends on your future plans as well as the exhaust but if your gonna be running a b16 i would def go with 4-2-1 manifold-test pipe and ws2.
the apexi cat back produces same or less noise than the mugen twin loop at half the price but the pipe size is 2 1/4 inch and the muffler is cambered which really doesnt matter much if your plans were to be running minor bolts.

He never said it had to be quiet :p

Apexi World Sport are really rare over here, never see them about!

But he also said he's not bothered if his new exhaust is noisy??????

So I don't read it as 'I want a quiet exhaust' thread.....
