Hi EK9'ers.

Quick question.

Do all EK9 rear lights have two brake lights on each side. Do the prefacelift (amber indicator) EK9 lights light up red in both red sections?

Example:

The EJ9 and VTI rear lights only light up red in the top red section, with a fog light in the bottom right.

Any help would be great. Can't imagine this will be hard to answer on a forum with such a name :)

Yes they light up as shown in pic but it's only the top half which gets brighter when you apply the brake as it's a dual element bulb
 
One question that hasn't been answered in all of these DIY ek9 light threads.

If ek9 lights were put into my ej9, would they still light up as they would on an ek9? Or is it the wiring set up that allows this to happen on an ek9?
 
wiring set is different on ek9, has additional wiring/bulb for bottom brake light
 
afaik its easy enough to modifiy the wiring to work with EK9 Lights....

Looks like there is not point in me buying pre facelift amber ek9 rear lights if i still have to go through the same process as the DIY to get the double light.

both sections of pre face amber lights also light up just like facelift, wiring is same for both ek9 sets
 
i've diy my lights to ek9 one, but only problem is that on the right hand side is brighter than the left hand side coz theres a defecter in the lans where the fog light is, so just get a dimmer bulb or take the defector out. btw, my lights r on ebay now :p
 
I put facelift JDM EK9 rear lights straight into my facelift UKDM EK4. No problems, plug and play, and light up as they would in an EK9 (ie upper and lower parts of tail lights lit). Just had to wire up a fog.
