i have the 98 spec itr, the final is 4.7ish....
the thing is 1,2,3 gear is amazing, shift to fourth and its not great,

can i intsall a 96 spec 4th gear into it?

thanks

much involved

I put 4th into my 99 teg and it made a serious job of it but I regret noe putting 5th in......

what parts did u have to buy? will the fit straight on?

i would install a b16b box with 4.785 final drive.i had a 98 spec integra box in my car and 1,2,3 wer amazing and 4,5 wer just no good.the b16b and 98 integra 1,2,3 gear ratios are the same but the b16b box has shorter 4,5 than the teg box.

i totally agree with you mate, that my box setup

b16b with 4.78 final drive is the best mod you can do :)

96 spec ITR 4th and 5th are the same as 4th and 5th in a b16 box :nice:

just way cheaper than buyin a whole gearbox!! I forget exactly what I had to change........... If ya ring Jeff he'll tell ya straight up

my current gearbox (EK4) is a S4C w/o the lsd.and my current engine mods is around 200bhp..someone told me to get an S80 ITR gearbox wif 4.785 FD to make my car clock a bit faster on quartermile. i m still learning and sourcing and i hope to hear from you guys opinion. I was thinking to get a 4.785FD alone for my current gearbox, but this fellar repeatingly said the best is to get the the s80 ITR gb wif 4.785FD.

is getting the s80 a best bet? or putting a 4.785FD to my current GB would be sufficient already.

thanks!!

Your gearing with just the FD would be shorter/quicker than the ITR box, but you would not have the factory LSD. You could always buy an aftermarket LSD though such as the Quaife which is better.
