Lads thinking of building an 85mm b18c ..darton sleeves etc.

I dont want to build a b20 and have the money to build the 85mm engine,

I just need some info regarding parts etc..

Can I use my b18c cams, crank and rods?? With 85mm pistons! And what will performance be like?

Anyone with info would be great

If you are going to this, do it right. get a b18b/b20 crank, forged rods and pistons, set of buddyclub 5`s/S2 pro2,toda c`s, etc. Get a decent head work done and you have a killer. Other wise, keep the 81mm pistons and do something with your head i.e cams etc.

Was going to keep my ?b18c crank?? And full skunk 2 head is in the plans I.e. retainers, pro 2's . A company in Ireland can do all the machining work.

You will benefit from the extra cc`s given by the 89mm crank. can`t see why want to keep 87,2 crank and oem rods.

Sorry I don't no much I'm just going by what I've being told etc. I was told b18c crank would be better balanced and the fact I already have it would save me sourcing 89mm one

I would personally go with the shorter throw crankshaft, more revs:nice:
Also be carefull going out to 85mm with a sleeved block, your not leaving a great margin for error, if you have any blow ups the block is scrap, hence why I went with a 83mm block from Laskey racing.

Since you'll be needing custom pistons anyway, get some
CPs made up with a raised wrist pin and you can use B16B rods on the B18C crank for an improved rod stroke ratio. Every little helps if you want a strong high speed engine!

Yea what I want to do is: 85mm pistons with 11: - 12: comp ratio, b18c rods/or aftermarket rods and b18c crank.?

And I want to use my b16b cams to keep reliability..
Gearbox will be 98 spec 4.7 with y21 4th and 5th, quaife diff ,lightened flywheel and act clutch, mapped on s300.

As I said I want your input as I don't no a great deal about these builds?

im curious to see what power it will get with stock b16b cams too !!
i recommend aftermarket cams btw !

85mm with ls crank n rods will yield a pretty interesting power plant and tq curve just choose your compression, cams, headers, intake, exhaust very wisely as they will determine over power output
