Im sure it was only the 98 spec JDM ITR that had 36mm hubs/axles - 96 Spec has 32!

Any idea why they changed to 36mm??? I find it strange

They probably did it to account for the larger wheels and torque generated by the motor. Honda likes to overbuild things at times.
