Have recently noticed that during high rpmquick shifting up, that my 3rd gear is starting to crunch :(
was just gonna ask whether anyone has had this prob as its quite expensive.:(
does anyone know how muc the bearings and syncros will costjust for this one gear?
cheers

the tranny fluid surelt only minimizes the damage right.... am i right in thinking that the syncro still needs to be changed?

Yes, they need to be changed, I don't know why, but every car I've bought in japan (except the starlet glanza) had the same problem after driving it hard at the track.

I really don't know if the labor in your country is expensive, but you should expect to pay more for the work the mechanic have to do instead of the parts you need.

In my country, the synchros go for around 50 $ the set, and I paid 120 $ for the labor, since they have to take down the gear box.

i know its only a temporary fix, but i havent had any problems since i started using it, my gearbox has a bad 3rd gear AND a bad countershaft/mainshafft bearing.

and rvm thats a really awesome price!! i wish it was that cheap here :(

that is super cheap rvm! over here in the uk, the labour 300 pounds + hoperfully the parts wont be too expensive!
thanks for the help!!
