Hey guys,
Basically im looking for a car i can use 3-4 times in the week to do daily stuff in like grocerys and picking up the mrs but i wont be commuting in it so can be fairly impractical, im after somthing i can do the odd trackday in like possibly 4 or 5 a year aswell as the odd day at my local sprint track.
I do fancy doing a nurburgring trip at somepoint also.

Ill be looking to buy around January 2016 and will have 3-4k to spend.
I have a long term mx5 that is being restored so dont really want another mx.

Been thinking-
Clio 172 cup
Glanza
Ek4
106 rallye
Suzuki swift sport
Some form of kitcar maybe?

Any other suggestions or ideal candidates?

Stay away from Glanzas as track cars, made of chocolate even forged they aren't great for reliability.

For 4k you have a lot of options tbh!

Clio 172 and you will still have a good 2.5k spare cash.

Ek4 again about 2.5k spare cash

Ep3 can pick a semi decent one up for around 2-2.5k.

The rest of the money you could use for suspension, brakes, tyres, fixed back seats, some performance mods maybe even a roll cage if you feel the need :)

I had a cheap glanza years ago and it was utter shite to be honist. Was hoping a "decent " one may be better.
Clio is right at the top of my list to be honist but never owning a french car or know much about them its abit daunting lol

205 gti with 2l 16v conversion

Stay away from French. Reliability and repair cost just isn't worth it.
I'd go for an ek4 personally.
Pay 2k - 2.5k the rest on bits to suit your needs.

Dc2 seem to be around that money ATM.
Clio sport are good but no LSD
I'd stay away from glanza aswell, can't see the handling being that great!

Another vote for 205gti aswell! I was surprised how fast one at my last trackday was!

Ep3 are cheap and fast but again no LSD...
I would say mx5 but you've already got one lol

My ek4 SiR would fit you needs nicely Id think, been considering selling recently.

Clios are just fine if they are maintained properly, just make sure it was looked after. What about MX5? If I didn't have the 9 sitting in the garage I'd spend £4k on a turbo MX5 - with proper LSD they are so much fun!

Would love a ek SIR but i never see many go up for sale :(

Could always buy a cup and buy a lsd?

Iv added a poll just incase anyone is having the same prodicament i am and stumble across this thread lol

Another option i have is i could sink the 3-4k into my ej9 but its a little ratty :s

Lol I've just noticed that you already have an mx5.... Go for 205 gti if you want some cheapish raw fun :)

Ep3 with 240bhp na, just sold my one. Was so much quicker round the ring than my ek9. It done the 1/4 mile in 13.7, best track car I've had.

Clio's are decent for track tbf, but IMO if you want all round on track performance within your budget, perfect balance coupled with good power & reliability - EP3 every time.

DC2 you could pick up for that kind of money which would be even better.

To throw another in the mix, Mk5 Fiesta ST150 are supposed to be pretty fun on track.

How come you ended up selling bud?
Iv never driven a ep3 but been told there not as fun as a ek9?

Mk6 fiesta st150?
I did look at them and i friend of mine has one and they just seem so god dam slow :/ maybe its just my mates one i dunno

Clio 182 for track - decent low milers to be had for around 2 - 2.5k. Just make sure the Cambelt and dephaser have been done recently. Use the rest of the money to buy better discs, pads and maybe fit some bilsteins and get alignment done. I just bought one as a daily and its awesome.

All that french reliability stuff is bollox - just don't buy a dog.
