Thought I would throw up a few pics of the only 2 EG6's on the Isle of Man, Plus a swapped B16 EG with rear Light mod. Mine always used to be the only SiR over here. Until this one came over a few weeks ago and came to me for some repairs.

It must be one of the most expensive EG6's I have ever seen. Unfortunately not a case of getting what you pay for though. I told him he was mad buying it at £4500 but he had the bug and just wouldn't listen.

Why do you think it wasn't worth the money, not as tidy as it seemed in the pictures?

seen this for sale on CL. nice and all but alot of money for what it is

Looks good mine will be up shortly for similar money , rare cars .

It is what it is, hes got it now so might as well make the most of it. Now you have the fun of been the cleaner one of the only two Eg6 on the Isle of Man

For a £4500 EG6 with nothing but a spoiler, set of wheels and coilovers I would have expected the high price to be because it would be Immaculately mint. Not for it to turn up with a load of faults to be fixed.

Drivers inner CV boot split all the way around, clearly been like it a while.
Wrong standard exhaust fitted which was forced on with wrong size decat, wedged against fuel tank, chassis, rear suspension, fouling gear linkage, had to force leaver into gear and was melting away the mud flap. Also to note baffles gone in the exhaust.
Drivers Door handle pivot fell off inside the door the night it came of the boat, window then fell out of its runners.
Little bits of rust forming under the tape used to cover side trim holes.
Suspension way to low, rear tyres rubbing in the arch even on flat roads just with acceleration weight transfer.
Found 2 wheel nuts finger loose on N/S/R wheel.

All that found with a quick carpark inspection with little jack as I had to raise the suspension to stop it rubbing. Im dreading getting it on the ramp for a proper look.

For a pretty much standard car that was valued on how "mint" it was It was well over priced.

Certainly wouldn't have passed a legitimate MOT thats for sure. Exhaust practically scorching the fuel tank. I didn't even buy the car and Im disgusted.

Hahaha Wish it was so, but Mine looks 10MILLION times cleaner in the pics than in real life. Up close mine is full of battle scars and bits of rust needing attention.

I will probably buy the black one off my mate in a year or so and restore it as a mint standard car to enable me to turn mine into track car. He thought he was buying a keeper but lost the buzz once all the faults were found, now he just doesn't trust the car.

That's a real shame it's turned out to be like that,
I was considering going to look at it when it was for sale,

Paint runs on the bumper.

W:shocked:W this was meant to be VERY clean and MINT :(

Was that the eg6 that was for sale on forums for a while? like a few weeks ago?

Hello, I was the owner of that EG6.

Lets make some things clear for you..

1) Drivers inner CV boot split all the way around, clearly been like it a while.
When it was MOT'D everything was fine, and if the boot was split it would have failed! And I never noticed that split boot! IF I had noticed it I would have replaced it!

2) Wrong standard exhaust fitted which was forced on with wrong size decat, wedged against fuel tank, chassis, rear suspension, fouling gear linkage, had to force leaver into gear and was melting away the mud flap. Also to note baffles gone in the exhaust.

If the buyer read the advert correctly I did mention the exhaust was UK fitment, and hence was longer! (Fouled against fuel tank) LOL thats a heatshield for the exhaust mate.

During the test drive, the buyer was informed the exhaust has blown baffles, and its a uk length exhaust so rattles against the heat shield, and also hits the short shifter becuase its too far up, He told me hes not bothered about that as its being replaced....

3) Drivers Door handle pivot fell off inside the door the night it came of the boat, window then fell out of its runners.
This is really funny, As soon as he bought the car and was home, he didn't phone me like he did but instead wrote a text asking for some money back.. In the time of my ownership that has NEVER happened.......

4) Little bits of rust forming under the tape used to cover side trim holes.
Tape had been on for over a year.. so not sure about this one

5) Suspension way to low, rear tyres rubbing in the arch even on flat roads just with acceleration weight transfer.
Welcome to the world of lowered cars. (NO rubbing on straight roads, perhaps on huge bumps but never had it on straight roads lol it could be because there were 2 people driving it back.. I don't weigh much and never used to have passengers :), So it could be that ). Coilovers are height adjustable.

5) Found 2 wheel nuts finger loose on N/S/R wheel.
Funny you say this, I checked all the nuts including the locking nuts prior to collection.

The buyer came, and just wanted to leave without inspecting the car, I insisted on a test drive and yet he seemed like he wasn't bothered! I still took him out on a test drive, with him driving aswell...

Also payment for the car took just 2 hours to come into my bank.. then there was the hassle of his bank sending multiple payments into my account which had to be refunded.

Perhaps he should have bought this: http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-...ar-b18c-dc2-type-r-engine-gear-box/1025501596

Overall the car was immaculate for the age :), I would happily buy it back if it's giving you problems because I know that car is mint.

This car has already caused alot of outcry regarding its price however I feel that a thread like this amassing to the already mountain of posts commenting on the condition/price isn't needed.

That being said surely it was up to the buyer to inspect these issues prior to fronting any cash. His failure to do so has meant these issues (legitimate or not) have gone unnoticed.

Saif is a good lad and has worked on my car on various occasions I trust his work and I know he looks after his cars.

Any issues should rightfully be exchanged between him and the buyer at their discretion.

Tbh that list of stuff is petty.

The only thing out of that list that would seriously concern me is the rust forming under the tape.
