Just looking to replace my fuel pump as I am still on my original from 92, thought may as well upgrade while in there.

Plans are only for a B20Vt, possibly a K20 later on, running a plain old B18CR with breathing mods at present. Just looking at Walbro's as they seem like the generic thing to fit. In comparison to my Pulsar that I have just fitted a 255 onto to keep in check well in the 300+hp got me thinking. Is there any need for such a big pump on my punny little N/A Vtec that might make 260hp tops later in life.

Are there any negatives to having such a large Fuel pump. Or will it just generally flow up and back out the regulator at a higher rate.

Don't want to have excessive fuel flowing about for no reason.

im running a 255lph in my starlet, the way i see it is if your not pumping mega fuel through then surely its just an easier life for the pump and the regulator will sort out any fuel thats not needed, cant see there being any negatives that i can think of atm, just make sure you get your fueling checked out once it goes in just to be sure :), always good to have like you say for if you kswap or such later :)

Mine runs fine mate - it will be fuelling 260 odd Bhp when my B20 is re-tuned next week so i will let you know.

Aaannnd I have one for you.

haha Jesse

I've got one in my 9 (I think) and it seems to be better on petrol than it did when I had the b16b in my ej9. Though, the only thing that could be the difference is that the fuel lines in the ek9 are mint.

You can get a 190 ltr hr pump from Walbro, that would be more than sufficient for your car.

ive always wondered about this. does the ek9 come standard with a 255lph?

not tempted to k20 that black sir?

Does Installing a walbro 255 fuel pump affect the smog check? Just wondering

Thing Dc2/ek9s are more like around the 160-170lph. Unsure what the b16a sir is as I can't find any data.

Doubtful I would K20 the black EG6 or ever take that engine out at all, the b16a that's in it is a right sweet nut, strongest and smoothest stock engine I have been in. Even with just KnN panel, decat and standard ek9 exhaust, it has an abnormal amount of urgency to pull.

190lph sounds like a more suited option. Just found it weird how common it is for the 255 to be listed an fitted to N/A Honda's.

i replaced mine about 6 months ago and im sure it was 190lph, i had the pump for a year or two before installing it so i cant remember where i got it.

here's one on ebay, its rated at 234lph and is for a 1.6vtec 91-96 model so thats just confused me as to what ive put in my car!

agreed, a rare sir needs to have the original engine but a k20 would be wild
