any one done it ? 225/40/r16 so same OD as factory, just wider. on 16x7 rims with offset +35. planning to put them in the front. anyone run remotely similar setup before ? anyone put 225 on a 7" wide rim without ballooning out too much ?? cheers

i have seen 225/45/15 on 15x7 wheels and i believe its still within the tire manufactures recommended size/rim.

hi,

yeah. i have the same question, i have a spoon sw388 16x7 fronts +35 and 16x8 rear +45 rears with 5x114 pattern (off from a s2000) and i plan to put 205/50R16 on front and rear, will it fit my EJ6? if it does fit, will my tires stick out too much? will these cause too much rubbing?

thanks!

2 things to consider....
Firstly: 225mm = 8.858 inches.... so you have near enough 2inches extra tyre on a 7 inch wide wheel...

Secondly - why fit wider rear wheels to a front wheel driver car? Seems a bit pointless to me?

i just bought the wheels because i am a die hard fan of the sw388 and it is so hard to find authentic sw388s nowadays, i just picked them up.

225 i think would be the tire section width.

i hope they would fit
