I will make this quick.... I am going to swap the engine later on but really want to focus on brakes and suspension first (that matter to me the most). I am getting bombarded with all kinds of crap on brake conversions; 4x100, 4x114.3, gsr, civic type r, jdm, usdm..... you get the picture. I just want front and rear disk brakes that i can order rotors for here in the U.S.! I have this guy trying to sell me ($250) front and rear jdm b16 eg brakes... he claims that they are 4x100 (to fit my current wheels) and that the parts to order for upgraded rotors are the same as the usdm gsr! Is this guy full of crap er what? I want to know.... should i just be patient and wait till i get a hold on a USDM gsr and steal its brakes? Also when i swap em over (besides the MC and BB) do i order suspension bits for the car the brakes belong to such as brake lines, LCA's, Sway bars..... My goal for the car is to do some serious HPDE. SO much for keeping it quick....thanks guys

i also have a 96 civic CX and this is what i have and i like it:

-99 civic si (same as 94-00 integra ls/gs/gsr) front and rear brakes
-MUST use 99/00 civic si brake lines
-sway bars and lca's etc must be for your CAR so you would get them for 1996 civic cx

Thanks bro, I just found (and am picking up monday) a complete 97 gsr brake setup! Now my question is.... (another one, yes I know) do I use the gsr brake booster, master cylinder and non ABS porportioning valve?

use the brake booster and master... the prop can stay. It's the same as the EM1

Ah man I forgot to ask also if I could install the setup and use while I piece together my swap! Will the stock CX axles fit the gsr hub? Please say yes!

I assume you're getting the rear trailing arms from the GS-R along with the rear disks?

the fronts are a remove and reinstall procedure. So yes.

Thank god... my plans are to install slotted rotors, extended studs, ss brake lines, and hawk black pads! One step closer to hpde awesomeness! Thanks bro for your help!

I'd forgo the slots and just make your way down to Autozone and buy some blanks... if you're from the states that is.

All slots and X-drilled rotors in 10in or smaller sizes generally lead to cracking when used aggressively on track...this of course is just my experience... you may fair better than I do.

ive heard similar comments from the honda challenge guys here @ the track. i had slotted and drilled rotors on my rsx-s with race pads and they never cracked, warped or faded. i will follow your advice and save the extra few bucks i'll save on the suspension and swap. Thanks everyone!

Thanks you guys... I had my MC thread going on along with this one.... Save for the weird MC that i have in my 96 Civic HB CX (99/00 Si / USDM iTR), everything looks promising.... I will post pictures in about a week er two on how the swap went and to help other performing this swap... I am just waiting for my ARP studs, Buddyclub Lug nuts, 99/00 Si SS Lines, and rotors w/ pads to come in ( next week due to Thanksgiving!! yum yum)...... Expect pictures in a new thread!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
