The October issue of Max Power is out today (12th) and it has the feature with the different type R's.

Did anyone from on here get there ek9 in it?
 
might get it self even tho i have nt got that mag for agggeeeeessssss!

Yeah it is an ok article there is not that much on the 9 and the 9 featured is black with a b18c conversion, wouldn't recomend buying it
 
I got it today and i'm not impressed. Basically said the equipments on the car was good but then gives a tech spec of 6.5secs to 60 and a top speed of 135mph. Thought it was very different from that....
 
Max power asked duncan and me if we wanted to go down to london for the max power civic type r shoot duncan in his white mugen type Rx and me in my yellow type Rx but we both could'nt make it ! wish i could have got there

Bearing in mind the 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds was set in a nearly new (at the time) ek9 race base model which is lighter than a ek9 type R/Rx it was in japan running 101 ron octane fuel and the driver was very light as well

But i think 6.5 seconds is a very realistic figure for a ek9 but they do go faster than 135 mph its more like 145 mph which is awesome for a 1.6 litre engine
 
The dude in the max power with the 9 is on a different website he's on ek9.cc

and is known as v, he got his 9 from tegiwa imports and so did i great guys.

i had a little incident involving 2 other cars
luckily i wasnt to blame but ah well.
insurance can pay for carbon bonnet and wings hopefully.

I know this has probably been asked before but does that mean that a UKDM ep3 would beat an ek9 both at 0-60 and top end??
 
I'm pretty sure it does 6.2secs. i pull away from my younger bros FN2.
 
just sold an ep3,the k20 is a lovely engine and with minor mods can be surprisingly quick,watch out for the ep3's against your ek9's you may be shocked:shocked:.i raced a couple of modded glanzas and left them for dead in my old ep3.
 
What mods were done to the ep3 dude, compared to the glanzas?
A few of my mates have modded glanzas, and I have a ep82, and once their running a bar of boost have never really had any problems beating slightly modded ep3s?
I always thought that the ek9s were quicker than the ep3s? If not can they be made to be as quick with simple bolt ons?
 
i had a manifold,full system with a decat,and a surprisingly good k&n lol also my ep3 had no aircon,my mate has a limited edition high boost glanza,not one with adjustable boost its high all the time and i whooped his arse easy in the ep3,he has a trd exhaust a dump valve, air filter, de cat,not sure what else,and some other random glanza when i was coming back from knockhill after the drifting.
 
Ive not heard of that limited edition one before?. If its on high boost all the time, its usually because its had the boost solinoid bypast, or even a boost controller fitted.
My mates Glanza's run 2.5" Turbo back exhausts, fmic, fcd, rrfpr, apexi avcr running 1bar max and induction kits. They beat modded ep3s by around a cars length with this spec pretty easily.
However, on the track, its a totally different story though, as the civics come into their own.

What does your ek9 feel like compared to the ep3 performance wise?

I was talking about stock ep3's/fn2's mate :nice: but ep3's can be rockets with the rite mods my friend had an ep3 with a decat and magnex system a itg maxogen and it was honda data k-pro'd ,it was quicker than my ek9,his ep3 felt rapid for 230 bhp

i beat ep3s im my eg6 sir but get smashed by my mates 273 whp galanza lol its a complete beast :(
