1/4 Mile slow times, gearing and turbo advice.

Well as above realy.
Aonghus mapped the car and we made realy good power just under 300.
Yesterday was d-day Bishops court 1/4 mile.
car is b16a2 with precision turbo sc601 ,screamer pipe waste gate, 680 injectors standard engine.

Now i no tires are essential but unfortunately did not have funds for good tires and i wasn't going to pull out of the day.

So here is my best time.
14.258
Speed 103.61
Reaction .527
60ft 2.5

Can my times be that bad just because of the 60f speed because of tires.

or is there other issues such as my s9b Gearbox
Because i was just finish 3rd gear hitting 4th for that run and all orther runs were redlining 3rd across finish line.

Really all im looking for is advice.
Need any more info let me no and ill provide it.

Should be flat out across the line in fourth right up the rev range, so gearing needs sorting, maybe try a s4c? Also with the right tyres you could cut .9 of a second off the sixty. I think with those bits sorted you could be low thirteens of even high twelves.

Spot on. As I said over on HH get that 60 ft down and the rest will come in line:nice:
 
S9B is fine for boost, its what most guys run... 4.4 fd is too short...

Terminal is low for your power... unless you span through every gear?

Terminal I'm guessing max speed? Probably because if I used launched I just span tires and went no were so had to launch at between 2-3 so mayb turbo lag?

Is there mods I can do to the s9b because I do like it but I want to have best gearing
 
With that power on road tyres you should be cabable of under 13.5@110+mph

get more seat time, and get you launch dialled in. And dont use launch control.
What tyres were you using and at what pressure?

Crap tyres so no need to even ask. And pressure wise 22.

The car did a 13.2 back in 2008. With near same spec just with boost turned up.
 
Gonna get a little technical here.
What's your:
- Tire Size
- Shift RPM
- Trap Speed (103?)
- Specs of S9B (What Gears does it have, I can't find specs on a S9B. Equivalent Gearbox = ?)

-Between 8000---9000rpm, Mapped so was safe to rev out more.
-Fastest trap speed was 106.2 Mph but this was one of the slowest times @15.309

Best time was a 14.258 and trap speed was 103.61mph
 
More specifically the Tire Diameter.
Tire size is fine also I.e. 205/50/15

Also gear box specs pls.

And videos of your runs?

Was it a different owner then or yourself?

22psi hot or cold?
 
I couldn't get under 14 with 189 whp @ 105. Started in second- hey presto!
 
I would ditch the s9b gearbox, I put that box in my car when my old s4c blew up and is the worst mod i ever done. My car runs 487bhp and with the s9b I was crossing the line just getting into 4th gear, with the old s4c gearbox i was crossing the line flat out in 4th. I have now changed the the s9b out for a 98spec s80 box (4.7fd) and now the car is back to its best again.

LOL are you kidding... 4.7 with 500bhp. Does it grip?

I had 370bhp and it struggled to grip in 3rd with s9b and 225 45 16 A048's.
