Hi which air filter make do you think would be good with the civic illusion 1.4? 1998.

there is a AEM which is a long arm intake - £178 or something,
a lot of the others are short intake which will be a bit pointless because you will be taking in hot air
you could just get a new panel filter which just drops straight in, but not sure if any benefits

The standard Honda jobbie, or K&N replacement panel filter:nice:

Anything else would be a waste of money IMO

With Chris, get another engine if you want more power ;) It aint that expensive and another intake isn't gonna give you any noticable power.

I got a K&N k57i induction kit in mine, didn't really notice that much differnce, mostly noise and its a tiny bit smoother. Just get a drop in filter.

if you want to do something different put a 1600 inlet manifold on it - supposed to give 'around' 15hp and does give a great sound !!

If Type-R's are anything to go by the stock intake setup will be much better than most people think....& in no way strangling a little 1400

95% of aftermarket "induction kits" compromise mid-range torque & throttle response to gain a handful of horsepower at the top end & lots of induction noise...

Anyone who has driven a Type-R with the airbox lid removed will know exactly what i mean...

alride thank you people. I might go for the AEM. I don't have the money to get a new engine at the moment all i want is about 120-130 bhp if i can get it. from changing a lot of diffrent parts in the car

not sounding rude but there is only so much you can do to a 1.4, you might aswell save the money and get the b16 or b18, you will have much more fun with that than a modded d14.
thats what i have learnt from spending some money on my 1.4 that is why im saving up a vti which i will get next year
