£400 to drive an EK9?

suppose its a good idea but you cant really expect alot from it . i think it could be some rich guys plaything, sure as sugar i wouldnt hire mine out

You think that's expensive? £400 to blitz a car as hard as possible for a day at a rally stage?

That'll use one set of competition tyres at least, entry is in the hundreds, and then you have the chance of f*cking the gearbox or breaking a drive-shaft...In my opinion that's extremley cheap, there is also an Aston Martin team in the clubman rallies for hire and you'd be looking at £20,000 or something similar for the same day out (but they have a full team and a giant motorhome).

Have you any pics/vids/specs of your brothers rally EK9?????????

I think he's going to do a build thread over the winter for the new season, it's pretty much standard at the moment, apart from breathing mods and suspension, but it's having some exterior TLC (at the moment it looks like it got attacked by a baby rhino), engine rebuild with aftermarket cams, ITB's and whatever else he can afford :p

All I can say is poor ****ing '9!

Like you said £400 is cheap in respect to the costs involved. Therefore some rich chav will hire it and wring the neck off it! I know many of us give ours a good thrashing but I cant imagine this will be serviced as regulary and we are used to the driving style of an EK9.

... I really feel for this car

Josh..

i had 2 peaple hire it for trackdays over the last 4 months there are a few condtions but its a cheap way to do a track day in a good competive car one guy spilt the cost with a friend i think its good value for money saying that this is just for the hire of car if you want better tyres etc thats upto you but the car ready to go with partworn tyres

I think this is a GREAT thing, its a great model car for people to rent out. :nice:

It also increase awareness of the model and its better spec than the UKDM EK civics.

People can somtimes be a bit too quick to judge this sort of business, as others have already said there is a LOT of cost in racing, this is a reasonably competitive price *(considering the car being in top mechanical condition). Maintenance does cost but considering you could have about 16 or seventeen races instead of just matching the cost and basic prep of an EK9 for this te of event.

wot happenes if say u push it a lil harder than u would in ur own car and sorta smash it? still only 400quid? not a bad deal when u think about the risk rich-e-rich is takin puttin his ek9 forward for strangers to drive... prob costs an extra 100 to have it stripped out n all that caper lol.
