when i get the key i just put it in the ignition and start the car with it? and i know its only a 1.6 just to usto me astra gsi turbo running 330bhp haha
You don't but then why would you want 2 know if you wern't going to go faster than 112mph
You need to insert the top speed key , then your mirrors will retract and your good to go
where can i get hold of a top speed key? sorry for my stupidness haha first honda and had to be a ek9
Did you not get 2 keys ? the red one ..
i got 2 keys one black and a small black one the owner who i got it off didnt know what it was used for
You need to ring him and ask for the top speed key , he should have given it to you
Correct . This is needed to unlock the speed limiter on the ECU and then the mirrors will retract
ok thank you ill get on to him now if he has not got the key any other way round this?
Honda also supply the keys
ideal thank you very much for all ya information
im such a thick **** when it comes to these cars haha only eva owned vauxhalls
It's my track car so can't take it on the road. Don't want to turn up and be limited.
Okay fair enough only way i could think of is to put it on the rolling road. Is the converted to mph?
ek4 clocks b18 and p73ecu so im guessing it should read mph but not sure. How r they restricted? ecu?
I can't wait to try the red key the next time I have my car on the track, Im a bit worried that Im not going to be able to hold on when the vtec kicks in tho lol!!!
Rev limiter is governed by the ECU and ignition isn't it?? So regardless of Needle/speedo/GPS reading's, the limiter in 5th will always be accurate.
So if you manage to be bouncing of the limiter in 5th surely thats at the max speed of what the gear ratios and wheel/tyre size governs.
Doubt a totally standard car would manage to keep pulling over the 140-145 mark though.
Im saying theres no way it would get to 155mph.
