1997 civic Vti in Dark Amethyst pearl. Only 65 thousand miles and with substantial service history. I am the third owner.
I have owned this since august 09 and it has not missed a beat. It has done everything asked of it without issue. Last year I only did 2500 miles and the car was sorn'd for the winter I am selling because I cannot justify paying £800-900 per year just for tax, insurance and Mot given that I do so few miles. I am starting a mech eng degree in september and would like to have a few quid in the bank to see me through.
Taxed until 31-09-11 Mot until 01-12-11.
The first owner kept up a full dealer service history. The last dealer service stamp is at 55 thousand miles. The previous owner (Topher EK4) kept up the service record with lots of reciepts to prove.
Engine
Mint B16a2 which does not burn a drop of oil. Documented Cam belt change last year. Valve clearances done at the same time.
Mods.
Custom made stainless steel exhaust manifold. Sequentially paired 4-2-1 configuration. I am an exhaust manifold design anorak and spent a lot of time calculating primary length to work with the stock cams.
Full custom built aluminium exhaust and aluminium silencers. The total exhaust weight is just 6kg.
Adjustable lightweight cam gears.
Split fire ignition leads
Custom oil breather system with the head and block vented into seperate catch tanks.
Baffled and heat shielded sump with M factory magnetic drain plug
Aluminium cold air intake with K&N filter in the wheel arch.
New Battery with 3 year warranty.
Exterior
Completly rust free with Dark Amethyst pearl paint. Pretty much as stock other than the rear badges have been removed. The paint is not perfect. there is no peeling lacquer but there are lots of little scrathes and swirls. But it is to be expected given the age and that the factory paint is so thin. 100% rust free.
suspension All pretty much stock except for Koni lowering springs. The RTA bushes were done last summer.
brakes
Stock 262 front brakes with Hawk HP+ pads. Goodridge braided hoses all round. The rear brakes were completly replaced in Aug 09. New calipers, discs and pads. Tegiwa master cylinder brace fitted.
wheels and tyres
Stock VTi alloy including spare wheel. Toyo T1R Proxes all round with lots of life in them. The alloys are not perfect with some minor curbing. but given the age it is inevitable.
Interior
The factory leather interior is in very good condition. The rear seats were removed when I bought the car and have been in my loft until last week. The drivers seat was badly torn when I bought the car, I fitted the Cobra suzuka wide bucket seat as the main purpose of buying the car was to track it. the Cobra was brand new and is in mint condition. it is very comfortable and hold you really nicely. Only other interior mod is an ITR gear knob. the rest of the interior is in very good condition.
Only other thing to mention is the very nice height adjustable Hid headlights.
Asking price £2500 Given the low mileage and rot free body I think this is very reasonable. I have been 100% truthful and think this car needs to be viewed to be believed.
