>>ek9 daily road/track build up from the start<<

I can still see carpet / headlining :(

LOL the car is noisey enough inside atm and I don't want to make it any harder to live with everyday:nono: Is there much weight in the carpet/headlining and how to you fix your mats to the floor without them moving?

ur cars **** hot mate i like the carbon just tops it off, super clean looks mint mate :p

The rear has changed colour hasn't it? From black to white. I'm just in the middle of spraying up the rear of mine, it's taking me ages!

My ulterior motive is to ask if you like to immortalise your EK9 for x-mas with a personalised EK9.org Top Trump? The link is in my signature if you're interested in it.

It's MENTAL loud with everything out, drivers mat is fine as you have the locating tab, passenger mat only really moves about when folk are getting in/out of the car

Yes I painted it satin black the 1st time to match it in a bit with the black plastic side panels when they were in before completely stripping.

What are top trumps, are the basically christmas cards??

I thought that about the mats and I was also afraid of it being really loud like you have explained. I don't know how you live with your car especially having no music to dround out the noise lol, you are dedicated tho which isn't a bad thing. The noise in mine atm is bareable just a fair bit of road noise from the parada road tyres but ive heard that the r888s are also noisey on the road, true?

having no interior at all is the sign of a man with massive balls.

Yeah R888 are noisy, although it's hard to pin point noise on my car, it's kind of an accumulative effort from the diff whining/clunking, clutch rattling, exhaust, tyres etc

You get used to it, the fact it feels like a race car makes you drive around with a grin CONSTANTLY, will be worse with the new gearset, it's all fun though :D

You will love the cage though, makes such a difference :nice:

I know what you mean Steve, the more you modify these cars for the track the noisier and more uncomfortable they get but the fun you have driving them gets even better:nice:

Brand new fixed Recaro should be here on tuesday already a week late and then the next thing on my list is a bafffled sump. I put a morosso sump on my dc2 but I also like the design of the mugen sump so might try it this time

Thanks, I got the spoon heat barrier for the oil pan from Funkypower. You can use it as a heat barrier for other places too and it comes with a good adhesive backing easy to work with:nice:

nice build
why not just weld in some sump baffles? soooo much cheaper and aint that much of a difference to spoon / mugen

Demon-Tweeks are the best place for heat barrier, cheaper than spoon/funky-power :)

Do the stock Type-R clutches cope on track? Id reccomend the CC 6 puck clutch, more comfortable on road than my old stock clutch and has a huge clamping force/torque capacity

The mugen baffled sump is a better design than just using sump baffles due to the fact that the baffles have walls that go down to the bottom of the sump but you are right welding some in would be alot cheaper!

Does the demon-tweeks heat barrier have adhesive backing?

The standard Type-R clutches seem to cope well on the track and I haven't heard of any problems yet, on the other hand I would never use an exeedy clutch again after a stage 1 failed on me after 1 trackday and a few thousand miles!

What does CC stand for with the clutch you mentioned, If my Type-R clutch fails I would consider an uprated clutch, do you know of any bad effects of a 6 puck clutch like access wear on the flywheel??

yeah thats true but you could also get some fabbed up at the same time when you weld them in!

CC stand for competition clutch

cant wait to see some pics of this with the cage in. super clean car the last time i seen it! :)

Cheers mate, shouldn't be too long now:)

My top Radiator hose produced a tiny split on Sunday night when I parked it up and drained nearly all of the coolant out, luckily I spotted it and had to take the front bumper off and get towed home:(

I fitted new silicone radiator hoses, new thermostat, new coolant bled through, Oil change with a new hamp and a new battery as it actually went flat with my headlights on for 5mins. So the car is running perfect again:drive:
