EK9 + BC Racing Coilovers

Cheers for the kind words guys :)

looks great on those coilovers mate!

do the company you bought them from make theyre own coilovers mate? on of the lads on ycuk has some apex coilovers on his yaris

Thanks J, handles sweet as now too. Not sure on the coilover side, thing they mainly sell other brands. :)

Probably confusing APEX Performance (an importer/retailer) with APEXi (a manufacturer) - Apex'i

nah theres a company called apex who have come from somewhere :p theyre supposed to make pretty good coileys.

anyways back on topic :p keep it up buddy cars coming along well, the ek9 is one of the cars im currently considering chopping in the tsport for too.

that's one sick stance mate! i like it alot!

BC Racing = Megan Racing = APEXi

Are they good coilovers? Yes they are :)

They are the best coilovers to come out of Taiwan, period. If you are after a set of budget coilovers, these are the ones to get.

This maybe OT but i need to ask... So APEX'i are made in Taiwan? I always thought they're made in Japan.

aaah and here i was thinking i'd be the first telling everybody about them... should b getting mine this week hopefully...... BC Racing used to make for those other manufacturers think they still do but not sure.... but then they thought about doing there own thing hence........

These are flat out the best budget coilovers... forget about Tein S tech n Tein basic... they are not even close.. and for a way lesser price..... quite frankly there is no other basic coilover to compare these to  ... it makes the word 'basic' look bad.... they are comparable to skunk2 pro-c if not better......

I can vouch for them cuz they are used by the fastest drag Mitsubishi Evolution in Jamaica which happens to b a Evo 7 and they have stood up pretty well n still going on....

Y'all wont regret them :welcome:

As far as I know out of the box you get 12/6. I opted for 6/4 but there must be options in between too. Best to give them a shout to see what's on offer...

My apologies, I forgot to put which model. It is the APEXi WS I'm talking about.

Contrary to belief (and what JDM importers/die-hards tell you), most Japanese Performance Parts aren't made in Japan (or only a small part of the manufacturer process is). The items are imported, packaged into boxes that have "Made in Japan" printed on them, and shipped off to the respective customers with the illusion of "JDM yo!".

If you are not aware of this (and are still dreaming the JDM yo! dream), this would most definitely come as a surprise as it contradicts everything that Sensei JDM yo! has been telling you ;)

Yer, most of the big brands don't make their own stuff, they give other companies their manufactures their specs and they make them. Most of the big brand coilovers are also made by KYB iirc. Just look at all the different brands of spark plugs from HKS, Spoon, Blitz, Apexi, all made by denso and exactly the same!

On topic, I seen these BC coilovers and were a bit weary about them cause of the price. Thought they were like D2s but after all the good feedback, think I'll splash out on a set soon! :)

Car looks great! Love the stance and wheels. I drove my buddy's em1 that had BC Racing coilovers and fell in love with them, he introduced me to them and I bought them the next month. Had them for a few months now and they're awesome. I love how on the softest dampened setting they feel close to stock as far as ride quality, just a little more bouncy.

Hey dude, car looks dropped perfect ;)

I saw the BC Racing Coilovers in the Banzai mag and was thinking of going for them on my EK9, how do they compare to stock mate?

p.s Im the fella who brought (Joanne and Marks) MONKEYMAGICS ek9 :p i can see your from Devon, thats why i mentioned it...

Thanks mate, with the custom set up I went for they are very close to stock ride wise on a softer setting. Handling wise they're amazing, I went for a more comfortable setup - so if you went for the standard 12/6 spring rate they would handle even better...

Nice EK9 by the way, saw it in the flesh and it is a minter. Going to have to try to organise another meet some time.

Dude did you just ring APEX PERFORMANCE parts and tell them what coilovers you want, or were yours customized ;)

Standard spring rate. Usually set the dampening somewhere in the middle a little towards the stiffer side. You have any other suspension upgrades yet? I'm really wanting to get a beefier subframe brace and sway bar.

How much are these coilovers for the ek9???

a mate of mine had them on a mazda mx5 and they leaked very shortly after he bought them...they were gauranteed though....i presume this was just a once off so...

i havent heard bad news really about these like i have from d2 and k sport
