anyone have any experience with these????

they are very cheap for what ya get......................

:ek9:

Awesome kit, you convert your b16b into a B18C motor, totally recommended. The parts are fully balanced, for me is the best kit under 1200 $.

Want to do that conversion?

My idea is some day, to put a b18c crank + connecting rods, this will give you a 1.8 engine with a 245 psi compression. Only 103 octane + gas can be used, not recommend for daily drive. With this setup + some good camshafts, i think you can do 200 whp + well tuned

have experience a mate of mine did it, also used spoon ecu and ss exhaust. its the quickest honda ive ever seen and with spoon ecu power was in all right places, if i was to give any ek9 owner i would suggest this kit, jus beware the kit does not come with gaskets or bearing which adds a few extra euro, at the time he was runnign 1.6l spoon ecu but still dyno'd at 209 bhp with lean at top end so go for it still cheap in comparisson to any other kits

The spoon kit comes with all gaskets, crankshaft, conrods, bearings, pistons and rings and all parts are genuine honda!! The fella in Spoon I was talking to also said that it would run on the standard ecu if you wanted but I'll put an apexi power fc in and get it mapped right!!!

This and the 4:8 final drive will be good fun :D

my mate baught it off tokyo express, spoon dealer and it came with nothing!!

spoon kit is not balanced at all you are buying honda oem parts.
buts its good deal when you need rebuild ,i would take all except the pistons and use the b16b pistons

that would bring you to 12.74:1 compression and most likely valve to piston contact. the spoon kit IS balanced, they use stock type r parts that are balanced to spoon specs.

comp will go around 12,lot of plp haev done their b18c-R with b16b pistons without problem.
About if the kit is balanced or not i was curius cause of the low price,if you have the spoon catalog ,it says nothing about balancing, same in their website .jp ,maybe balancing i believe balancing is offering when they make the build of your engine.

balanced or not from spoon the R componets are balanced from honda.spoon stroker is good solution for rebuild.

im not sure where you are but, ive dealt with spoon a lot in the 90's and have read numerous articles and interviews with different spoon reps. it is also well known around here that most spoon parts are factory R parts rebalanced by spoon to spoon specs. most piston manufactureres dont say there pistons are balanced, its assumed. spoon balnaces them with higher rpm in mind so that all parts are within (i believe) 1 oz of each other.

Spoon = Reliable Aftermarket Parts :D

spoon and mugen sells the best aftermarket honda parts...

the best if your willing to sacrifice a little performance for factory reliability. spoon/mugen parts dont make the most hp, but they certainly are of the highest quality.

Well, what do you think is better, spend 1000$ + in camshafts + retainers + springs, or buy this stroker kit for the b16b?

I think that this kit!

Like the domestic car owners say, there's no replacement for displacement lol :D

i personally am 100% against stroking the b16b. you ruin its excellent rs ratio. i would (if staying all motor) spend 650-700 and get blox b's with there springs and retainers. with the extra $ get it dyno tuned with a chipped p28 or get a basemap from www.phearable.net this will make more or the same hp as a stroker kit and you will keep your rs ratio and be able to rev to 9500+ reliably.

and there is a replacement for displacement: vtec, boost, efficiency, and rpm.

i will be using all four for my b16b look for a write up comming soon boost + b16b + 9000rpm.

I want to do that, blox b + phearable chipped ecu

I have friends of mine with b18c engines, reving up to 9500 RPM !

you can do it with a 1.8, you can even rev that high with a 2.0 but with a b16b there is very little side loading on the cylinder walls so things like aftermarket sleeves or a blockgaurd arent needed. to rev a b18c to 9500rpm with a stock bottem end is NOT going to be reliable at all. with a b16b it is :) you just need cams to make power that high.

would it not be cheaper to go to a Honda dealer and just order a b18c crank, pistons and conrods???????

or do you need more parts??
