No compromise Supercharged ek9 build

cheers mate. The car isnt intercooled/aftercooled yet but i will possibly be looking into it once i get the mapping done. But to be honest im not wanting to chase big numbers but rather have a well set up car with a little bit more power and torque. Plus i would really rather spend the money on better gearing i think

I think it would certainly be something I'd look into not for figure chasing purposes but purely as a safety feature. I'm sure its not a huge amount of boost that the charger generates but it'll certainly be enough to increase the strain on the components thus generating more heat for certain. Looking back it has a standard rad too so I'd certainly look into upgrading that even if its just to a DC2 full length jobby.
An intercooler wouldn't cost the earth though you could potentially use a second hand one from say a VW 20v as they're very neat and would certainly fit in the bay.

Yeh mate your absolutely right. The setup would definatly benefit from being intercooled for sure. I think as a street car its fairly safe, however when the car starts to see some track action i am seriously going to consider it. Roots type chargers are notorious for producing alot of heat, which is why you get big increases in power when intercooled. Boost wise i havent installed a boost gauage yet but i would say its running safely on very low amount of boost. Its sister car was only running 5psi so i would imagine it would be roughly the same. 12psi is probably as much boost as you will get out of this type of charger anyways but i would rather play it safe for the moment.

Also as for the radiator, if you read back a couple of pages mate i bought a koyo dual core aluminium radiator for it from a guy on here but it turned out to be faulty so i stuck the original one back on for the time. I havent had the fan come on once yet whilst out driving so for street use its fine but for the track its not going to be much use so I will be ordering a koyo dual core, full length aluminium radiator for it very soon.

cheers jase.

Got the rest of the pics.

So much effort gone into this, Love it!!

Seen him using some autoglym stuff, guessing super resin polish :p

cheers guys.

maclean yeh mate when i bought it i knew it was needing some loving but thats what makes good projects imo and i have enjoyed every single bit of doing it all and would do it all again if i had to. Its only been tucked away for 2 weeks and im missing it big time :(

Lee mate i use alot of different products but if i had to reccomend something i would go with the following:

Shampoo: Meguires gold class
Clay: Meguires quick clay/detailer kit
polish: Autoglym srp for hand polishing and Menzerna intensive polish and Menzerna finial finish for machine polishing
wax: Menguires tech 2.0 wax
Sealant: Autoglym extra gloss protection
Glass polish: Autoglym Glass polish
Tyre gel/black: Meguires endurance high gloss tyre gel

I have tried loads of different products but the above worked for me but its generally all based on personal preference.
