My 1968 Honda S800 Re-build

So I got it home Sat morn, had a mobile painter come round and painted the doors, frames and boot.

Then I had to look after my son till wife got home at 5, I shot out to garage to start working on it. Fitted the boot hinges, full set of new coolant hoses, rad, adjust timing belt, replacement leads, fuel pipes, mesh grill and exterior chrome grill, fuel pump. Thought I best stop and go to bed as it was 2am!

Sunday fitted the roof insulation, filled g-box and engine with oil and coolant, fitted fuel tank, fuel cap, front indicators, door light switches, stainless steel straight through tail pipes. Best of all started it and ran her for about 30 mins ::). Finished at 00:30!

Today 2/3 fitted roof lining and had enough by 21:30.

I will get some pics soon.

Hi
This morning got the door handles re-assembled and fitted to doors. Also had to carefully re-drill the door mirror holes. Then finally fitted doors to car. This was the easy job.
The hard bit was coaxing the washer pump back into life. Took 2 1/2hrs but got it going again in the end, but don't know how long for.
Really pissed off as looks like i might have to remove the dash to connect the washer pipes to the washers!

Good news took it for MOT, passed first time :))

Bad news is she smokes like a steam train. Pored in some "stop smoke" which has helped but just can't really go over 50mph.

Think I might just get up extra early for JapFest and take it easy with plenty of oil for top up's.

Right the jobs i got done this afternoon were to straighten out and remove as much as i could the dents in the roof, door and rear qtr edge trims.

IMG_5813.sized.jpg

Normally qtr and door trims are held on with metal clips that you cant get off and they scratch the paint off. on the qtr I'm just using screw fixings on each end and not bothering with the 7 or so clips. On the door trims im just using two instead of five.
