So I've been busy.
I've got a very conservative tune on the car. It's running 0.5bar boost and revs right up to 8800 with slightly rich air-fuel ratios. I've done this because I'm not overly confident in the accuracy of the aem wideband.
All seems to be going well except for two issues. The first being that the engine runs really lean after a warm start (only on idle) I think I've got this figured out but won't know until I get time to sort it.
The 2nd issue is that when I try and use the wideband to replace the stock 02 sensor it all goes very rich. This issue may be abit more in depth and may result in me having to tune the whole of both fuel maps again. No big deal as it's all learning isn't it....
Very happy with the progress I've made this week. Feel like I've learnt a lot and I'm gaining confidence In my tuning ability everytime I take the car out. My issues are fairly advanced (well the lambda issue may be) So thats got to be good that I've not messed up anything trivial.
I've wired my knock monitor into the car. This allows me a few more functions, my favourite being this knock vs rpm graph. For those interested the dotted line represents the "noise" the knock sensor picks up on an average 2000-9000rpm pull. The solid line is the threshold for which I've set the monitor to alarm if the "noise" peaks over.
As for the rest of the car....
Had an oil leak today from the oil pressure line to the stack gauge. Means I've had to bodge that with abit of welding for now so I'm not running a pressure gauge atm.
The exterior paintwork is in a state, my DA and Maguires ultimate compound won't even touch half of it! For this reason I'm a little ashamed to show you guys the car in this state. It's OK from 10 paces so your all going to have to stand 10 yards from the car lol.
Hiesenburg is coming over tomorrow with more squids to paint the doors and touch up a few bits inside the car. Will also fit my doorcard and see if I can bring the quality of the paint work up abit.
