Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Can't wait to see/hear her , you've done a lot over last few months jesse ,reap the benefits now this summer.

Doesn't feel like I'm getting anywhere atm, gone from super quick turn around with the paintwork to all the small things taking ages lol
Managed to clear up the majority of the wires today, made up some blanks for the holes in the dash but cocked up the middle one that's going to house all my accessories.
Waiting on parts is killer aswell!

Sounds a bit like my car,
A whole lot of "not much left to be done" and no time to do it!

Yeah I know, just everything taking ages and not really getting anywhere lol

Sounds a bit like my car,
A whole lot of "not much left to be done" and no time to do it!

I've got loads of spare time just no parts and everything seems to be a bit of a battle atm

So another day of "not much I can do" waiting for parts and then finding I need more parts etc.
I did find that I chopped the wires for my side indicators though lol I knew I'd chop something important! Got those wired back in and then got the passenger door off (I'm sure you know where this is going!)

So I started with what I'd call a bare door, no speakers or doorcard. I'd undone all the bolts but everything that lives in the door was still there.

Then by the time I had finished with the grinder...

This lot weighs in at 11kg.(that's one door)
This 's basically what the door looks like minus a poly window and a clean up.

The door now weighs 18kg, still seems abit heavy but the bulk of the weight is structural metal around the door hinges so not really a place I can chop much metal from and still have a normally working door. Add 2 doors together and you have a 22kg saving, which is pretty good

Small update again but chipping away!
Got these cool little hose take offs from viper performance for the coolant return and boost reference for the boost controller.
This is what they look like fitted into my boost pipe.

Quick shot showing the coolant return line into the top rad hose.

This is unreal mate, love it! Need to get my finger out and start mine lol

So got a little bit more done today.

So we have 3 gauge holes
4 switches- hazards, datalog, scramble(boost controller max setting) and a spare.
12v socket
And the avcr hanging off the bottom.

I've noticed the dash is going to bang around abit so more bracing for that is needed to hold it sturdy.

Slowly dawning on me that this may not be ready for japfest.
It's getting there but waiting on a few parts for the engine and obviously mapping.

So got a replacement windscreen today. Also cleaned up the rest of the wiring and fitted the spgs back in.
Buddy fits the rear quarter polys Sunday and heisenberg is back the day before japfest to paint the doors and a few touch ups.

I also made a pair of door cards, first one was abit of a hack job but much happier with how the other card turned out.

Yeah man. Completely forgot to order in new intercooler piping for turbo to intercooler.
Also I'm not massively confident in the water ports on the turbo not leaking. This is something ill find out about when it's too late to fix aswell. So fingers crossed

Lots going on mate not surprised you've forgotten bits, it's happening though so happy days!

Impressive reduction on the doors! Will counter the weight of the cage.

I have seen some people use a hole saw around the frame of the door and on the hinges to turn them to swiss cheese which may save you some more weight?

I've tried this before. Without a real good quality bit it will take forever and the actual weight lost is minimal for the time it takes.

Not much done today, early mornings caught up with me so had a mid day nap lol
Got the top water neck tapped for the stock temp sender though.
Got to love working with aluminum for things like this.

Also had the issue of how I was going to open the doors now that I ground the stock pullers off.
Well Gypsy Fab is back with a brand new product.

We've gone a bit up market, usually we'd use cable ties and some old wiring loom but this is proper wire rope with red sleeving (imported from Germany no less) with top quality copper crimp sleeves!
