Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

It's the school leavers bud, every summer they drink abit too much and get rowdy. Was a headlight last year.

Yeah I'm happy enough with it. Can't wait to turn the power up abit tbh lol
I'm planning on getting out for the evening on 28th July with Gavin(b18c metro) on here so that's my chance lol

Just a small update, nothing substantial.
Booked brands hatch on the 28th July. Is an evening session so cheap enough for me to get out whilst collecting parts for the next build.
Ordered Morosso sump, headgasket and some arp moly lube from tegiwa.
Gavin had some spare bearings so I've bought them aswell.

Had an update from the machine shop, he's checking through all the clearances and making sure it's Defo contamination that's causing my issues.

@Samuka88 came over so we played about with his facelift ek9 for a while.
New sparkplugs and diagnosed an issue with the clutch master cylinder rod being slack from the pedal, this made the clutch feel very weird and hard to find biting point.
Went for a spin in mine aswell for laugh. I think he has some pictures.

Next update I'm hoping will be another alignment then off to brands with more pictures and videos, plus a new PB with some luck!

Some splitter action seen as I'm skint. So it's a DIY splitter version 2 if you like.
Basically I reused the old 9mm splitter blade I made for the oem lip and stuck it under the new chargespeed rep.
New mounting system is around 1/4 the weight of the old system so that's good.
I decided to have the lip attached to the splitter instead of the bumper. This means that there's not air gap underneath and it also makes pulling the bumper off seperate of the splitter not too difficult.

Had to make up some metal bracket to attach the support rods too, attaching too the bumper is pointless as that will just flex when(IF) the downforce is made.

Downforce level: @LoganK

A quick coat of paint and then under seal to protect it and that's how it looks without the bumper. Allows me quick access to anything around there without having to take the splitter off(pain in the arse)
With the bumper on

Raised the suspension around 10mm to account for the splitter as I scrape a lot as it is. Should help protect the splitter alittle, esp at the ring!
Got two bald tyres so they will need changing soon but I'll run them at brands and kill them off.

Should have all my engine parts back early next week
Full inspection on the engine and it's having
Crank/rods/Pistons/clutch and fly all balanced
Crank polished
Hone on the block and a final clean up of all parts.

Should run smooth and clean this time round!

Splitter looks pretty robust!
Bet you can't wait to get the forged engine together and in again. When's the next ring trip?

We'll see, I'm not too convinced 9mm is enough even with the extra bracing.
Yeah can't wait to start building again tbh. I revel the challenge if I'm honest!

The next ring trip starts 28th August(yes August) and I'm back 2nd sept.
The first outing for the new engine should be japfest2 so I can assess its condition after that and make a plan after that.

Splitter looks very good on there mate and that's a cool way of fitting so you can remove the bumper without faffing about with the splitter might need to look into something similar.

Yeah the only downside is because the front lip is a cheap rep(very poor fit) it leaves a gap between the bumper and the lip. Can't see it in the pictures but if you was to walk past it you'd see it.
Not too bothered just one of those annoying little things I can't really fix.

I bought some black pvc angle edging from my local hardware store and used it to block the gap between the bottom of my standard lip and my marine ply splitter, I riveted it onto the splitter and the lip and it works very well. I also tapered the ends so that it looks spot on

That's an idea for the future if I end up scraping this front lip.

Nice updates here. Good to see you getting some use out of it rather than having to fix engines

Yeah for sure! Life's been much better since I got the c4 in there, only done 450miles with it but it gives me time to build the next forged block with a few trackdays in between.
Next one is an evening on the 28th. Hoping to get a new PB but I've got two bald tyres so might not be so easy.

I need to get a better mounting point for my tie rods like yours!!

Update for the week.
Sold a fair few parts I had laying about the garage this week. That has allowed me to buy these

Set of two Advan RG 16x8 5x114 with 225/45/16 Dunlop semi slicks. I've been looking for 8j for some time but in 15" that expensive(if you can find any) most seem to run 225 on a 7j but I don't like the thought of it personally.
Means I'm likely to have to change my spring rates so I can come lower without the tyre catching the inner wing, this should give me my current ground clearance back. I feel the current ride height is good for the DIY aero I've got going on ATM plus it will probably just clear MOST of the Nurburgring without catching the floor too hard.
These are due to land with me Tuesday so I may stick them on for afew sessions at brands the same evening just for giggles.

Today I got all my engine parts back!
To recap I got the whole assembly balanced, flywheel skimmed, crank polished, block honed and everything cleaned.
Everything came in sealed bags to keep contaminants out which is cool, I've got little drill holes in everything now aswell where it's been balanced lol

Crank is super clean and journals are perfect after the polish, can't wait to get it fitted!

Stock c4 flywheel(because I'm poor) if you could have seen this before it went it! Been shot blasted, skimmed and balanced. Now looks like a work of art tbf

So left there with these and afew more build tips! I basically try to info sponge this guy everytime I'm there lol I'm confident I can build this bottom end clean now but I'm looking at starting Tuesday before brands.

Ok so typical last minute change of plan means I'll have these wheels up for sale again soon as they arrive.

Basically got some 15x8 being made instead.

Who's making the 15x8's?

Team dynamics.
Pro race 1.2s
15x8 5x114 et35
Gloss black.

I'm only getting two because I'm keeping the weds so I'll just get them painted up black to match and run them on the back.

Cool. Had seen that they do 15x8's and had thought about getting 2 15x8's and 2 15x7's
