My 1968 Honda S800 Re-build


Real pain in the ass, had to remove both screens as i was supposed to fit chrome trims before putting glass in. :angry2:

No way i was going to fit this in :wow:

4 rear trims in and rubber back on glass.

Well there is still a few bits to put right when i can locate parts, prob new piston rings needed due to badly smoking engine.

Lets see if i can get to JapFest tomorrow without braking down. :nerv:

Fitted some harness's as seat belts were originally an option when new :wow:

Cleaned the engine with alloy wheel cleaner :naughty: (works a treat)

Yeah, it will most likely be the pistons rings or bores. They may have rusted a fair bit over the time it's been sitting. You'll have to get the head off to see the general condition if the cylinders. You'll be able to see the rust around the top lip. The bore may just look polished with no cross hatching marks on.

Now covered 150 miles and virtually finally stopped smoking.

I got some new parts off of a really helpful guy called Paul in Bristol that owns 3 s800's (the red coupe, red soft top, race car).

4 replacement hub caps that are dent free, I'll get these re-chromed
Inner wing headlight cover
1 Window winder + 2 clips + cover
2 chassis / body fixing bolts + several bushes
4 rear window screws
door panel spring
wheel nuts

Haha this is so awesome - good work! I'm going to be helping my best mate do a nut and bolt rebuild on his Mk2 - going to convert it to a Mk1 like you have :) Stuff is impossible to find!

The car is living in Shoreham! Cheers dude :) Not much left to take out now and the body will be unbolted from the chassis! It's got quite a bit of rust round the boot and has been completely bodged, so it all needs stripping back and welding. My focus is the wiring and Piping ;)
