yet another insurance thread .. for 19 year old

so basicly im 19 and in feb im looking at either a dc2 or a ek9, the only killer is the insurance

i dont want a vti anymore as its not as well spec'd as either the dc2 or ek9 and going from experiance i would be better spending the extra on the better car because i always spend a fortune on moding ..

so anyway who are you all with insurance wise as my cheapest quote so far is 6.4k, crazy amount and no thats not on my own thats with my 58 year old dad as main driver and owner of the car with no claims or points against either of us

where am i going wrong ? who are you all with and is there any specialists i should go to?

please help as i want my dream car

It is a lot of car for a 19 year old and the quotes you will receive reflects this. Also, if it is your car, if you want a legal policy then it needs to be in your own name.

My advice would be wait another year or so, get some NCB under your belt and then look again.

Unless you have very keep pockets you are better off with a non type R. My company specialise in this type of car but we wouldn't insure you on an EK9.
