Yellow EK9 plate ends in EKK near Exeter M5

Yeah can't wait for it to be done!

Haha sounds like me! I always said I would make the collection if I won the lottery, all fresh imports though lol! I don't know if I could boost one, I still feel like it's ruining a real nine, unless you somehow blow it up and have to rebuild it, I don't know why I'm like that though lol! I used to be a ford person though, just keeping things clean and tidy and well maintained, I must say since having the Hondas I've had I have gone a bit nuts and made my car to my taste disregarding the whole type R's lowered sensibly on a nice set of wheels, I like my car looking crazy, only some of my friends drive jap cars which is a bit pants but they are nice people lol! I don't know him, I thought I might but his name doesn't ring a bell, I only know of one boosted black corsa down here it belonged to some dude called Nathan, but I thought he broke it for parts.

I didn't really have to rent, but I get on better with my mum since I've left and I know I'll get a house at some point as I'm good with my money now.

I washed waxed and polished my car today

I cant wait either!!! Dragged on so long now. Winding me up. It's all money though... Or it'd be done by now.

Haha if I won the lottery I think I'd buy every Type-R in Championship White for the complete collection. Then get all the colours of EK9 as a side collection. Rather than boosting I might K swap one hahah. I agree on the whole boosting thing, that's one reason I went for a high comp N/A build rather than boosting. For me the EK9 is all about N/A power. Also didn't K swap because I think that it should stay B series. Coils have done either for the money I've spent but chose not to.

Fords eh? Fair doos! I do love your 9, the red wheels are lovely tbf. Looks better now you got all the carbon off it, was too much before. Cheapened it. Crazy mods, hence the name Crazy Nik I suppose lol!

Didn't think you'd know him, he doesn't know you either haha!

Looks well after the wash! Mines so dirty, wish I'd washed it at the weekend now.

It is all about the money dude, or I would have had mine off the road for a rebuild ages ago lol.

I don't think I would have one of each type r, to be honest I really only love civics, I would have a proper JDM NSX though  I was just looking at your threads, I was hoping to find one on your build, I respect the fact you have kept it N/A, I didn't find the thread I was looking for though I am meant to be working lol, I see you have gone for the B18C bottom end, because of the longer piston strokes and all that jazz? Why not go back to the B16? Were you worried it would incur the same smokey issues? I like that you wouldn't K swap either, I understand how much work goes into doing that so nothing against anyone who has done it, but I agree with you that it should stay B series, I believe your build is for you personally, not just you but anyone building anything is building it for them not anyone else, some people prefer boost some don't.

Thanks man, your nine is rad too, looks really really clean, your attention to detail is on point. I am all about the craziness, although I have spent most of my time since I've had it stripping, cleaning and having parts of it sprayed, at the end of it all I am still going to make it look crazy lol. I will say it looked really tacky when I first bought it I didn't really like it, but I had to have it as it was surprisingly in better condition than my first nine and it had been looked after quite well it was really clean even the underside had no rust even with no under seal on it, I couldn't walk away I had to save it.

Haha let that be a lesson to you next time you feel you should wash it :)

We need a local meet!

I saw your silver one a few times, but yet to see the PY one. You still in Newton?

I'm almost there now with mine. To start the work anyway :D

I would get one of each just because I could haha. Yeah NSX is lovely!

Well I don't actually have a build thread yet, just the thread in members car which is linked in my signature below. I will do a build thread once I get it moving and actually start work on the car. All I've done so far is accumulate all the parts lol so kinda boring. I will do a thread from start to finish though once it's underway.

Yeah it had to stay N/A, as I said it's what the EK9 is all about for me, and Type-R's in general until the new one... Well I went for B18 purely because one came up at the right time for good money lol. Plus the extra displacement will give me more torque etc. I've been told by many that B18 + EK9 = perfect combo so I will wait and see for that haha. The best selling point of the B18 I bought was the lightened and knife edged crankshaft in it. Will spin up so fast.

I love my B16B but just a shame it's burning oil. I would have gone for another B16B but all the ones I looked at were too pricey at the time. Then I thought about it and saw the opportunity to B18 it and go a little bit mad with a high comp build with bigger cams, forged pistons etc. but nothing too crazy as its a daily. So I've only gone for S2 Pro 1 cams but there will give decent power and are a good bit bigger than standard cams. There's a lot gone into it, I have so many expensive parts sat here waiting, itching to get it finished. Indeed your build is for you, I've taken a lot of advice as I've not done it before but really enjoying doing it. Just hope it all comes together as I want in the end!

Thank you very much! Much appreciated. It needs a little TLC right now as its not been cleaned much in the last month. When I take it off the road for the engine swap I'm taking all the interior out, going to wash the carpet, mats and seats, paint the floor, bumpers and skirts off and underseal, refurb the wheels, clean up the engine bay and possibly paint it, aircon out... I want to get the bumpers respected as the rear has a few dings from before I owned it and the front is stone chipped too much for my liking. Much to do!!! It'll look new once done though I hope :D

Haha well why not make it look crazy! You do what you want to your car, I prefer when people do their own thing and don't follow like sheep. Can't wait to see what you do. Aye they're always nice like that, mine was super clean too underneath etc. still got it undersealed though to preserve it. The guy who did it couldn't believe how spotless the floor was. I think its only really been used in the summer before.

I can't wait to see it tbh, sounds like it's going to be rad! That is what Type R's are meant to be about I definitely agree, I would even go as far as to say I don't like the new Type R personally I think it looks like a tank with horns, but I reserve further judgement until I actually see one in person. Lightened and knif edged? That's something I was interested in right from my ford days!

A lot of people told me that TypeR's are meant to burn oil when I had me DC5 but it didn't really sit well with me, neither of my nine's burned oil like the five did lol! But the B18+EK9 is going to be a winner, I like that you are still using it as a daily that's cool! And it's all fun when you achieve something in a build that you've never done before and it works correctly after, that's one of the best feelings I think, don't worrie dude by the looks of your car and your attention to detail it will most definitely come together in the end!

Wow it's going to be factory freash I wish I had the room to do that to mine, gut it and clean it all at once, doing it in stages it doesn't feel like it's all getting done lol!

Yeah I normally just do whatever I want with the look of my car, some people have comments to make about it, I just say, I like what I like, get over it, at the end of the day, I paid for my nine so I'll do what I want with it lol :run::p

Hopefully :D the new Type-R is nice but might be a bit OTT. The others are quite understated I think, certainly breaks the mould.

Here is the crank before it was polished during the block rebuild -

My 9 is getting ridiculous with the oil burn now. Doing a litre in 500-600 miles on average. Smokes like a bitch in VTEC and the back of the car is covered in oil droplets a lot. Absolutely stinks as well lol. Can't wait to sort it out! Just praying the new rings seal properly and it won't cause bother.

Well, except for some minor imperfections in the paintwork elsewhere it will be ok. Should be pretty damn clean :) haha you'll get there. It all counts.

Yeah why not, always Say each to their own.

My Mrs spotted you yesterday nik, driving about with a UK dc2??

Yes that was me! That DC2 is so clean, its a shame its a UK spec one really lol, I want the seats out of it, I'm hoping he will swap with me, mine are not that bad but his are mint and I know he wont keep the car.

I'm waiting till we get the catalogue for it at work before I say anything else lol.

Wow that crank though! Its lovely looks like its going to make a bit of a difference, love it!

that's a lot of burn, but hopefully it wont be too much longer :naughtyx:

Looks absolutely rad, are you going to Japfest?

I got the standard 9 Recaros, I love them, I have cleaned them with woolite and vax so they are clean just warn a little unfortunately

Aye hopefully will spin up super fast! Cracking piece of machining. Yep, oil burn is sky high, bit of a nightmare really. Hopefully :D

Thanks mate! I will be at Japfest yes :D been there the last 2 years since owning the 9 on the stand, been very good both years. This year I should be bringing something a bit more special than before :D you going?

The best kind of machining definatley! Dude what's more special than the 9! Lol! I will be there in my nine, not sure who to go with though, I don't know if my crazy nine will be accepted by the rest of the nine owners lol!
