Hey all,

Well im getting my car on monday, and the cambelt is getting done on the thursday,

was just wondering if it is worth buying a water pump aswell?

cars on 62k miles and not sure if its been changed before?

If the water pump is ok leave it mate ,just do the belt ,a friend was a mechanic at honda for 10 years and reckons it's a load of crap about doing the water pump when ya do the belt, save the money and get something else

i changed mine at 78k mmiles when i got my cambelt fitted i might be fine but better to have peace of mind becoz if your water pump fails your fooked:(

get the water pump done.

i got my timing belt done and didnt do the water pump and 3000 kilometers down the road the waterpump went and i had to get the belt taken back off again. and ur not susposed to re-use a timing belt after u take it off so it'll just save u in the long run

I think your friend was just lucky all this time.

It's cheap insurance to do the pump while the belt is off. Why chance it?

Do the pump, just for the sake of an extra few quid!

yeh already got one! got this lot

Thermostat – Honda Genuine
Honda Genuine Timing Belt and OEM Koyo Tensioner
Rocker Cover Gasket
Oil
Gearbox Oil
Spark Plugs
Fuel Filter
Brake/Clutch Fluid
Coolent

Any thing else you suggest?

def do the water pump best to be safe than sorry!!an since ur givin it a service u mite as well get new sump an gearbox drain bolt washers.

While you're at it, you might also consider the oil pump. Depending on whether or not you track the car, you could remove the oil pan and have it baffled as well. :p
