This might be a repost but does anybody know can you wire rear lights to make the top and bottom part stay lit like the SiR rear lights.

Mine is a VTI and only the top part stays lit, can anyone give me a guide if it can be done. Cheers :))

Think there is a post in the resources fourm that has a guide. Search how to make your rear lights to come on like ek9. I think that's the heading

Yes boy, heres the thing if are keeping your original uk clusters all you need to do is cut out the extra hole on the passenger side and remove the foglight reflector in the drivers side. Heres the best bit, if you can manage to get a set of ek9 or SiR rear bulb harnesses theyre just plug n play, straight into your uk light harness, no cutting of wires needed at all. Only thing is youll lose your foglight, minor issue tho, diffrent bulbs in the jap harnesses too, hope this helps.

Do you mean clusters or lights?? But anyway I have ek9 clusters would this still work? I get what you mean, do you know a write up with picture's, much easier to understand? Are the bulb harnesses picked up easy? No problem about the foglight. Thanks for the help.

Yep tim i just mean lights, neways if youve already got ek9 lights youve already got the 2 extra holes needed. You should be able to get the light harnesses from someone breaking a ek9, try japperformanceparts in uk thats where i got mine with bulbs. The bulbs will be like bigger versions of sidelight bulbs rather than the bayonet type in the uk cars. Its as simple as just unplug your own light harnesses and plug in the ek9 ones job done and looks perfect unlike the modded uk type which just dont light up right. When test time comes just swap your drivers ek9 rear lamp for the uk one and also the uk harness with the foglight, then youve all bases covered and no cutting or splicing wires needed!

Sweet nice one bud appreciate it :nice:

Will get on it once I have the time to do it. Thanks for the help.

No bother lad once you get the harnesses 5mins and itil look sweet!

Quick question, if I were to take the foglight button out of the dash would I need to put back in the fog for the nct?

No need to do anything at all with the dash foglight button, changing to jap harnesses will just mean that you wont have any drivers side rear foglamp and will make the button redundant. Japs arent required by law to have a rear fog, anyway wen the nct comes just change back the uk harnesses, both sides mind coz you dont want the test guy to see that youve bottom and top lights on one side and just top and fog on the other. Heres another thing im not quite sure the uk harnesses fit snug in all the holes in the ek9 lamps, can rem for a fact that the fog one doesnt fit at all, different notches etc. this is why you might need to swap bac both lamps and clusters, hope this helps ya!

Hello friends
Question. When I push my hazards on. The lower lights flicker. So I do have bulbs there. Any idea how to rewire to stay on like ek9.

Thanks

The DIY that was posted, I'll use when I try to wire the rear fog light into my USDM hatch
