I went through my insurance company who used Auto Windscreens
, which I didn't have a good expereince with.
At first they wanted to just fit an generic/pattern windscreen onto my EK9, but I had insisted that I would prefer a like-for-like replacement. Which agreed to, so I gave them the chassis number, and the honda part numbers for the new windscreen and the rubber seal.
After a long wait (which was over 3 months), I had to ring them to find out if my screen had arrived and the they said I've already booked an appointment with them to come and fit the screen, and I told them then was news to me. They don't seem to do communication well in this company
1st attempt to fit, the chap arrived and had the incorrect rubber seal, which was for the EP3
2nd attempt to fix, young lad came out and cut the screen out, which took him close to 2 hours to do
( and when bonding screen in, it was the incorrect screen, as it was smaller and I think was for an ITR-DC2
So I was advised that he could come back tomorrow with a generic/pattern glass. I declined and waited for the original Honda glass from Japan. I also had to make a cover for the front windscreen, as it was letting in water
3rd attempt to fit, after more waiting!!! Another chap comes out and fits it, this time I have correct glass from Honda Japan and rubber seal. All fitted, but problem, was that the rubber seal didn't fit to great in certain areas. I though sod it's I've waited long enough and the galss is in now and I can live with it
A little while the after the glass has been fitted, I noticed the rubber seal was loose, but didn't think nothing of it. When, the driver side of the rubber seal all came off and was flapping about when I was on the dual carridgeway
(...
Didn't want to call out Auto Windscreens again, as total bunch of badgers. Purchased a new rubber seal from Honda and got a local company to refit the screen again. Turns out the rubber seal they used was a cheap pattern part and the fitting originally done was haddock.
Now it's perfect
Hope you don't have better luck with your insurance recommended windscreen fitters.
