Hey chaps,
I have a question for those with experience of windscreen de-misting in track/race/rally cars. I will be removing the blower, A/C matrix and all the other related bits from under/behind dash. The only bits I will be retaining are those that direct air towards windscreen/side windows. Now my question is whether I need a heater and a blower or whether a simple 12v bilge blower alone would do the job? I won't be running the car in the winter, but the ambient humidity tends to be high in Scotland even in the summer lol. I've had a look at the heater/fan combos that JJC offer, but to me it looks like a little heat exchanger with a PC fan stuck onto it and I'm dubious whether it will actually produce enough heat/air flow to demist the windscreen. One thing that sways me towards retaining some sort of a heater is that I would also like the option to turn up the heater if the engine temp was to shoot up on track.
Another option I have been contemplating is a heated windscreen, but I could do without the expense.
Anyone with any sort experience please share your knowledge. Thanks!
