Hey everyone, my ek9 has just reached 140000 miles and i think my suspension is pretty tired.
What options are there for suspension? I really like the standard suspension but it looks like over £1000 from honda, and thats if they still make them.
My car is a daily driver so i need something comfortable yet responsive.
OR....is there any places who refurbish old type r suspension?
Cheers evryone!

Depends on what you want to do, the OEM Type-R damper isn't cheap but they are good quality parts.
In your case, it will depend on what you want.

Good quality coilovers like the ZetaCRD will be a good replacement while keeping the car comfortable and responsive.
Not to mention will provide a bit better responsive with slightly stiffer springs rate.
Adjustable damping also will allow you to dial in the ride comfort you want for fast road use, and stiffer if you are going on a track day.

But it will depend on what you want.
Some owners prefer OEM parts so that will either be Honda, or the closest OEM replacement mono-tube damper I can think that are readily available will be Bilstein.

You could go with shocks and springs but they would probably work out the same amount of money as a set of mid range coilovers. BC racing, miester r, etc are all around 600-700. If you are after comfort you can get the coilovers with softer spring rates of 8k/5k, twin and BC do these rates and I imagine the other brands can do similar rates.

Spoon fixed dampers and Spoon springs. I have these on my EK9 and they're outstanding.

Thanks for replies, i would really like to keep the car original because this was how it was designed.
Most people say coilovers are crashy and dont work the same as standard parts.
I think ill just have a look at old threads on coilovers and see if that makes up my mind.
How much did the spoon stuff cost?
