Where is it coming from....

Guys this noise is killing me. Where is it coming from any ideas???
Since the power steering belt snapped after replacing it I hear this noise. It's coming from the right hand side of the engine.

have a listen to your power steering pump...might be on its way out.

put a long screwdriver on the casing and the other end to your ear, you should be able to narrow down where the sound's coming from if you're patient and move the screwdriver around ;-)

i think it's the belt tensioner bearing for the A/C. A common issue with that bearing , just get a 6203 bearing and replace it.

A/c has been removed. Can it be the bearing on the p/s pump or alternator

yeah it could quite easily be those bearings mate,

use the screwdriver trick and have a listen to them if possible

if i saw someone doing that id assume their nuts lol. nice trick though, id still make sure no ones watching when doing it

Nope it doesn't get any louder or quieter same sound from first start up done a 200 mile trip same sound all through the journey

my guess is the idler pulley. same thing happened to me when i bought my ek1. engine ran beautifully but one of the belts had a slight squeal at startup. i changed all 3 belts but somehow the idler puller got damaged and is constantly whining. im not replacing it because the b16b is going in.
